Help with using Canna Terra

Setting up my 6 pot satellite system again but this time around thought I will give Canna Terra pro a go, having previously only used clay balls. just wondering if any one can give me some advice.. the pots I use have the insert that sits inside the big pot then drains back out and into the holding tank.. is it still necessary to use the insert or just fill the whole pot with canna, cheers

Best to keep the pot inside pot as will help with drainageand you could keep a fail safe in it by having your draining piping higher so if pump fails the roots can draw upfrom bottom pots

ok dude just saw this, you NEVER recurculate with coco or terra/promix/sphagnum,NEVER.Always run to waste, just have a bit of a play around,if your worried about them drying out try a turbo tank.Terra goes well, ive found it smashes coco, the only prob ive found is you might need to get some calimagic,or cmx from flairform,to correct any probs, especially if you use R.O water.and use pearlite, for drainage.I use the canna terra, with rhizo, cannazyme, calimagic and some floralicious, seems to work well.

Terra is good stuff... just a bit pricey- but compared to sand and bark based potting mixes it's far superior and worth paying for.

I agree with swampweed- don't recycle your nutrients with it. Run to waste for sure.

yeah nrth coast,i run a clay pebble setup,in channels, using dutchmaster gold range, and i run it sparingly, and the terra is heaps cheaper,oh so cheap compared to running a recirc setup.I usually go thru 100-200L just on 1 veg setup a week in recirc, thats a lot of nutes. In terra i might go thru 20L with hand watering.I cant get the same growth rate in terra as in my recirc,no where near it,but i have only just started with it.There are less problems, and its cheaper,so its worth a shot.
