Herb grinders and the kief catcher

Fess up, how many of you have removed the kief catcher screen on your grinder to get a larger catch volume ?

Shopping for my first grinder, I want to smoke the whole bud so the screen seems to be a waste of volume...

Thinking of just going for a Brilliant Cut grinder, I like that there are no threads to navigate

7 weeks delivery, sigh...

Cheers.

Hummm... I just shouldn't have read this, because from where i stand it sounds absurd, but i don't mind standing pretty much alone and the attraction of frenzies now sort of seems like a thing of the past. Truth is i've adopted this motto after a patient vaporist evolution: to follow "The Shortest Path Of Lesser Transformation", while dame Nature graciously offers a nearly-perfect packaging format (with bio-molecular filtration + easily detachable noble compounds collection under the form of a trichome "gland"). Even better yet, its trichome stems keep their toping glands away from all other surfaces, ideally (when NOT compressed!); all it takes is a brief/energetic (pulse mode) shake once frozen i guess... Too bad our common century-old socio-toxic legacies still cause "stoner$"/"droÿé$" to process it further - which is a waste of some rare opportunity.

In reality "smoke" = combustion, which itself translates as self-poisoning - all too often on a chronic basis. Not to mention the bigot anti-cannabic prohibitionists just LOVE all that mess to get perpetuated indefinitely, by the way. That's why under 2 hostile governments in my province + 1 more in Ottawa our legal captive canuck (monopoly) SQdC outlet now strictly controls packaging in quite a socio-toxic manner, to effectively purge the "legal" offer from as many benefits as possible while cashing in thanks to inflated price-tags & taxes, In The Name Of Children.

But that's another storry.

Good day, have fun!! :peace:

I've used a lot of different grinder over the years. The Santa Cruz Shredder, SLX, Sharpstone, Kannastor, and many other generic grinders and one of the best grinders I've found is this one.
Amazon.com: Kozo Best Herb Grinder [Upgraded Version]. Large 4 Piece, 2.5" Black Aluminum: Home & Kitchen

I received it with a Pelican case I'd bought for my glass and couldnt believe the quality for such an inexpensive grinder. It doesnt crush the herb like the cheap grinders. It slices thru like butter. Easy to grip and turns with ease.

I dont bother with pollen collecting screens. My trim bins catch all the dry sift I could ever need.
