Hermetic Genetics- Root Beer Float

Haven’t been able to find much info on this strain or breeder, so I thought I would post some pics as it blooms.

This is Root Beer Float @ start of week 3 since the flip. So far this plant is short and bushy (topped once or twice), leaves look like what most would call indica dom.

Smells nice but not crazy strong yet.
Stem rub is (surprisingly) very root beer/vanilla like, with some sweet og kush in the background.

...btw, the smudge on the leaf pic was from some water drops if anyone notices it. Looks weird in the pic but it’s nothing, I made sure.

Root Beer Float is looking pretty nice. About halfway through week 5 bloom (if my math is on point)

Smell ia thick and very sweet/spicy. Like syrup with some perfume/spice and what I can only really describe as a classic OG Kush background scent.

Really can’t wait to taste this if it’s anything like the smell.
Patience is key. It’s actually looking like it will finish relatively quick (breeder claims 8-9weeks) .

Looks like the purple will develop some more.
This plant had suffered a lil bit from some minor deficiencies but is doing well. I’ll post some more pics if I remember when the lights come on.

Yield is looking really good but could be a bit better. Structure is on point, thick chunky colas. Also this plant isn’t too big ( like 2.5ft tall) I think another round with a few adjustments would fix things.

I kept a clone around and have a few others from seed that are in veg. Will choose the best 1 to keep around a while.

I've puffed this strain out in Steamboat. It is one of my all time faves in terms of potency. Super hashy taste.

Can’t wait to smoke it. Really should have kept a clone around, I have more going but who knows it the phenotype will be similar or not.

I’m surprised, a lot of strains are nothing like the name but I can already c where the “root beer” name comes from. Theres a sweet “spice” in the smell kinda like a root beer barrel candy.

A small lower branch broke a few days ago and I propped it back, up but today it was falling over pretty bad so I just clipped it for a tester.


Smoke is sweet/spice and OG, although tastes not the best since just quick dry. Smoke is definitely potent, but i still feel like it’s not exactly all the way there. Gonna give her another 4-7 days more til harvest and she should be just right. I will give a update and a more detailed smoke report then. Peace.

Bottom nug starting to germ pretty bad...

this run has been pretty stressful for them,so I’m definitely not blaming the breeder or strain for it. It’s definitely on me. Recently changed my grow size (bigger) so there’s gonna be a few adjustments that I now kno I will need to make next round.

Update:
RBF is finally dry/cured enough to do a smoke report.

Smell is amazing and very pungent. Hard to describe but I’ll do my best.
Very sweet coffee/vanilla/syrup, with some herbal/spice in the background (anise/allspice?) with some classic, funky/gassy OG Kush in there for sure. Jar is cracked and the scent fills the room quickly.

Very pretty colors, with some bright purple, dark purple, silver and orange.
Smoke is thick, sweet/sour and tastes very similar to smell. Definitely some OG in this strains heritage. Smoke is expansive but not overly harsh. Hits like it should.

Effect is definitely what most ppl would call Indica-like. After only a few pulls from a blunt i can feel it already. Starts from head then to body relaxation, positive, clear, and non paranoid thoughts, general sense of calm/well being. If you keep smoking, depending on tolerance level, you might feel sedated, eyes heavy. Over indulging will almost always lead to a nice long nap.

Great end of the day smoke, great flavor and smell, has nice bag appeal, finished relatively fast (under 9 weeks flower).
Yield wasn’t the best but I won’t blame that on the plant. Had some minor issues this run that I won’t repeat next time now that I know better. Only bout 2.5ft tall, prob got about a OZ dry
Kept clones of this one, 2 more siblings in veg, and still have a full pack of seeds left.
Will definitely be growing this again soon.
