Im in 4x8ft tent. Do i buy
3 hlg 350rs with 997ppf each 330watts. 600w hps replacements.
or
2x hlg 600r 1500ppf each 600watt and 1000hps replacements.

Both work in 4x4 well. Though with 350r i can spread the light more evenly i gwt less ppfd but both are over the max ppfd for my tent with co2.

2x600w will save some penny and have more power but the spread will be not as adjustable as 3....
The moneys less iimortant than the yield. I could also
add another 350w if i wanted to match the wattage and would exeeed the 600s by alot but its un needed ..but apread out and dimmed down.... i hate options decide for me i buy today when i get email

Id go with the 600s was my first thought, but the 3 might be better as you said. 50w isnt going to make a big difference, not even 2w per sq ft. Hard call, let me know how it goes. Im too cheap for hlg. But respect their lights and reviews. 35w per sq ft at ambient co2 is plenty of light imo.

Neither of those lights are ideal unless your tent is really tall. If you can afford the 650r then just save up another 200 and get 2 scorpions. Remember RIU10 voucher for 10% off on some products.
150w QBs, even if diablo, are not ideal for tents as they eat up so much hanging height. Of the two the 650r seems less ideal. The 350r could be an option if you might have uneven cannopy or maybe redo your grow in smaller tents. But I think you need more spread than what 6 qbs offer in a 4x8, no matter what wattage.
Look at parmaps, hanging height recommendations and realistic plantsize, how much space you need for carbon filters and how much space you got and I'm sure you'll find the same conclusion. If youre making a big investment and going for top dog lights make sure you get the right one. Sucks if you realize later you can only grow 4 foot plants without bleaching them.

You could actually get 4 x 350r for less than 2x 650r if I'm not entirely wrong. I'd decide between this, or the scorpions.

Yeah they reccomendes the 350w x4 i cant afford the extra pannel so 3 would be my max.
Thats 1050 watts.

Atm i have 2x 600watt in giant magnum xxl coolhoods there huuge im in a 1.8m tent atm. With them hooda hlg are not even a quarter the size.

Think 650s would turn the skynoff my tent lol

The 600 would be a watt for watt replacement
My idea on the 350x3 comes from there advice which seems solid. Spreading the light distrobution but yeah less 150wattsled.

The 350 says its a 600 replacement... and the 600 a 1000watt replacement. ... so reality says the 350r x2 should replace my hps system 1200watts . The extra pannel 350r wil be like another 600 in there if what they says true...

The 600s would be like 2 1000hps replacements tho...

600 says 28 to 40oz
350r says 14 to 20
So 2 600s says 56 to 80
And 3 350 says 42 to 60

Hm seems like the 600r x2 would be option best by far if the heat isnt an issue in tent ?

o_O it seems like we have a break down in communication. Please reread this. 650r is a terrible choice for a 180 tall tent. You need space for your plants. 650r on full will eat up one of those meters, do you plan on growing 50cm plants?!? Are we talking about the same lights? Are we talking of the same lights or are you talking about 600rspec? Anyway it's still a terrible idea for a 180 tent.

4 x 350r same price as 2x 650r on hlgs web but I swear the 350r was cheaper a few days ago. Maybe I'm wrong. But current hlg prices don't favor 650r in your case in anyway what so ever. Why pay the same but get worse spread?!?!

650r isn't really for any tent at all, it goes in a tall open space with many lights overlapping. You look at wattage and price only when you really need to look at hanging height first. I don't know what more I can say, I think we already talked about this in another thread.

Another way of doing this would be buying 3 hlg550s, refurb or eco or whatever their cheap versions called and dimming them. It would give you nice spread. 6 qbs at 160 watts each is not going to work well.

who do you see running 1000w in a 180 tent, 6feet tall?!?!? I don't understand the process here, what am missing?

600 says 28 to 40oz
350r says 14 to 20
So 2 600s says 56 to 80
And 3 350 says 42 to 60

these yield numbers are for ideal conditions. You will never get 1000g 4x4 with 50 cm plants for the 650r.

Hm seems like the 600r x2 would be option best by far if the heat isnt an issue in tent ?

4 350's. I like multiple lights too.

I've got 5 HLG lights in my 3.5 x 8 closet. 2 260's, 2 100's, and a 135 in the center. I have 2 more 260's here in boxes that can replace the 100's when I want but haven't. I have CMH above those 2 100's that aren't on now. I would like to take out the 100's all together and do LED, CMH, LED, CMH, LED. But I'm worried I might be pushing the power for the wiring I have. Some day I'll get an electrician out to add a dedicated line, but I haven't been too concerned.

CMH does bring on the frost though.

I run 3 of the older HLG 260w r spec in the same size tent. They work great. Remember light companies are in the business of selling lights so of course they would recommend you buy another but 3 will be fine.65-9e52b0c88091e23b192a7bc562b2e001.jpg

That's only 24 watts per sq ft, all on maximum setting. It will work though.
I only use 1 for seedlings then 2 for veg then 3 for flower.
First few runs I used all 3 and the plants were very short and bushy. Most plants had a node every 1cm.
Remember tent walls are 97% reflective.
That old 40 to 50w per square foot is for old low quality LED's not decent ones like HLG

It's all good. I have all my HGL 288 boards at 90 watts a piece. Add the little 100's and I only am running 650 watts total in my 3.5 x 8 closet. That's even less. That's only like 23 watts a sq ft. Works pretty damn good still, but if I changed the 100's to 260's at 180 watts a piece, it would be better.
