How can I get a medical marijuana card?

Hi guys,

I have been suffering from severe back pain for the last 7 months. Tried several clinics and medicines, but not even able to sit properly. It's very difficult for me to sit for long and even tired of trying different sleeping positions! My friend suggested Apollo Cannabis Clinic, a medical marijuana cannabis clinic in Alberta.

I would like to know the formalities to get a medical marijuana card. I'm dying from pain. How long would I have to wait for a card? Please help me ASAP.
Thanks!

There are quite a few places that can help you and some others here may give their suggestions. However, I do know for a fact that "MCRCI" is professional and solid.
I don't know their initial membership fee; however, I do know renewals are $199.
You can just google them and give them a call.
That said you can just start growing plants now (you are legally allowed 4 in most provinces) and order cannabis from internet in the meantime.

One Ounce, they are based out of Montreal, but have drs from all over the country who can serve patients from any province. Skype consults if you cant physically be there .

They were very easy to use and they are extremely helpful

I haven't got my card yet, but the paper work is all sent off, they helped every step of the way.

They say anywhere from 6-8 weeks when dealing with HC, ive seen some get the cards within a few weeks, ive seen others wait 4 months+

when dealing with HC, it seems there isnt much consistency lol

You're talking about your medical grow license right? If he just wants access to medical marijuana, he only need the medical document from a doctor, and the doctor usually sends it off to the LP afaik.
As for grow license, we just sent our renewals in 4 weeks ago, and already my wifes has arrived, and I expect mine any day, so 3-4 weeks...

yes i used them for the grow license but they also offer scripts for purchasing from the legal med spots.

they also offer scripts for patients wanting more than the 5g/day family drs are prescribing...Obviously it all comes with a price, i think its 149.99 for a script to buy . Worked well for me as my dr is a douche when it comes to Marijuana and its uses

cost me 350.00 for 10g/day script to allow me to grow 49 plants

I see people quoting the number of plants allowed as 5x daily script, minus 1? (Indoor I assume).

My script is for 5g/day, and my wife's is 3g/day, and together, we can grow 40 plants (plus our 4 recreational I believe)

Just curious why yours is 49 and not 50 plants?

I'm not sure, I just used the calculator on hc

10g/ day allows for 49 . Also there's another grower on here that has the same 10g/day and his number is 49

I honestly can't tell you why tho

My script is 10g/day and I have been allowed 49 indoor plants for the past few years now. Along with being able to store 2205 g and have 150 grams on me at anytime.
As for the OP , all that is needed is a prescription from your Dr. Fill out the paper work from Health Canada, then wait. When first registering it can, and often does, take 6+ months. Once you have it the yearly renewal takes much less. Averages about 6 weeks.
There is no need to join any group or pay anything in order to get your personal medical production license.

Cheers :)

Yes i shoulda mentioned that

If your dr is onboard and will give you the script free of charge, theres no need to use the services of the companies like i posted. My dr isnt, hes still very against MJ as medicine and as a result was not gonna be helpful to me getting my acmpr

For the record, it is absolutely 100% illegal for any Dr to charge a fee for a prescription for medicine. Regardless of what that medicine is. The loop hole that has been found is a Dr being part of some type of "consulting" group that charges its users a fee for their services.
Any Dr that is refusing to give their patient the medicine they need is a really shitty Dr. There is no justifiable reason for a Dr to refuse cannabis. Especially given the pills they hand out without a second thought, without reliable information on those pills.

Cheers :)

DEMAND YOUR GP FIND YOU ONE FOR FREE..ITS HIS DUTY AND YOUR RIGHT TO HAVE THIS SERVICE COVERED BY OHIP!
how is it your right to demand a Dr give you something? if they don't believe in it, they won't give you it. if you demand, they can tell you to go to another Dr. it took me over 2 years to find a cannabis friendly Dr...and have been kicked out of their offices for demanding it

"THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DO THIS SERVICE FOR YOU!"
This is good to know - do you know where (link or something) I can find the written word on this so I can bring it to my local doctors? None of the doctors in my area will help me.....unless they have changed since I last seen them.

LOL.......the police work for us too! :)

I see your point. However, the next nearest doctor to me is 5 hours away. Much easier to just pay and see a doctor over skype versus stressing over $200.........not to mention, get better plant counts in all probability.
However, I did get my local doctor to give me a referral for the skype doc; further, I had to twist their arms by writing them a letter stating that the referral was imperative to my health.

This is correct..when my gp first refused I asked to then refer me to another doctor that could.
She did but to my dismay the doctors name was Dr Sool....which at the time seemed legitimate but as it would turn out
she had given me a little puzzle...SOOL meant (shit out of luck)...well wasn't she just the humorous one....
I waited 6 month's for an referral appointment, and was told that they did not take phone questions or inquiries and I would have to wait for them to call me. Another 3 months had elapsed and still no call..hmmm
At my next appointment ,I insisted she deal with my referral....at which time she fired a piece of paper at me and said I could call them myself since she still did not believe in cannabis as medicine.
I took the piece of paper and left....
The list comprised of all the consulting Dr's in Ontario, what would sign with cannabis as medicine, and had a lot of familiar names with some of them being involved in the court challenges, that were on going at the time.
anyhow I had My licence within a couple of weeks....of contacting a cannabis consultant and a lawyer...
