im interested in going hydro next grow but i really don't understand how does nutrients work with hydro. do you really have to change the water every week? i just seems like a lot of work and a lot of stress on your plants. i have posted this a few times and i have not really gotten a clear answer... can someone please break it down for me on maintenance step by step. i was gonna do bubbleponics but changing out three 5 gal buckets sounds exhausting especially in an indoor grow. some one please break it down for me!

It's not as complicated as you think, and the reason you probably haven't gotten a good answer is because you're kinda asking for someone to explain to you how to grow hydroponically, which no one really wants to do because it's kinda long. Have you tried posting in th hydroponics section? There are some pretty enthusiastic mods there that might explain everything in detail to you if you catch them at the right time.

All you would need to empty your reservoir (or the 5 gallon buckets you plan on using) so you don't have to lug them around is a $20-$30 water pump and some 1/4 in. drip line hose (about $10 for 50ft) and you can pump the water straight out of your window.
