Blunders?

Accidents?

Funny stories?

I burnt the lower 5 inches of leaves off all my outdoor grow this year with Neem oil, seaweed extract, and soap combination foliar feed with one application! , anyway....no mites! (knock on wood)

Surprised this thread isn't more active! I got my TSP and TBSP mixed up and gave me plant 2 2BSP of Cal/Mag and I also didn't transition nutes on the flip, and I continued to feed full strength even when I saw slight nute burn. So what I have is a plant with every last leaf burned to a crispy-crisp and somehow the buds are still thickening and trichomes are showing so I kept her. Goodness what a mess, but she is my first plant. The other 3 look fine still.

I wouldnt expect much of a response in this thread, eveyone on RIU are expert growers haha -just ask them.
Kidding aside, I overfed with a new "one part" nutrient (FloraNova Bloom) and sent a couple of my plants into N toxicity and they were exhibiting "the claw" along with darker green leafs. Live & learn when it comes to growing out new strains. My last 2 strains were new to me so I didnt have a feel for how they grew. I didnt feed enough N on my first run of GG#4 and they stalled out about week 6 or 7 and started leaching from the leafs. My current grow is BOG Lifesaver which I overfed and sent them into N tox.
Another mistake I made was being in the Midwest trying to grow in the summer ......never again. My rooms just aint cut out for it.

my first grow years ago, i think i must've dropped the beans on the floor or something, i'm not quite sure what all happened, but the end result was i grew super skunk instead of the mk ultra i had thought i was going to b growing..
the worst part is / was, it was my first grow, and it was late spring, meaning flowering was going to be in the middle of the hot summer months, and i had no odor control, no carbon filter, no inline fan, lol.. thinking i was going to be growing the mk and not super skunk, i wasn't super nervous about the smell of the plants.. silly me after i made the mistake as that super skunk was the straight up stinkiest plants i've ever grown.. everyone says that the road kill skunks are a thing of the past, but not with that old super skunk i grew.. the entire house smelled as if two skunks were having raw, unprotected butt sex under my porch..
it was months and months and months of pure torture.. i so couldn't wait for them to finish flowering so i can get rid of that funk. they were the loudest plants i've ever grown, the only thing that's come close was sd4 from rez, which is sour d x chem 4, and that is another loud stinky plant, but omfg, i'll never go near that super skunk from g13 labs that i grew back in the day.. side note, i've told a few other people about my experience with the super skunk and a few have grown it after i have, and didn't have the same road kill skunk smell.. so, idk if the genetics i grew were older and they've changed up over the years or what happened..

Hmm, for me, I had a nasty fungus gnat problem in the tent next to my germination station, I'm almost positive the gnats laid eggs in my peat starters cuz when I went to see if any had sprouted I saw little white worms crawling all around inside and even inside my now empty seed!! Though 8 years worth of growing you blow me wayyyy outta the water so I'm sure you'll figure it out. Probably just a bad few batches? Either way, good luck. I hate that feeling when they don't pop. I over planted b/c of this and now my damn cup runneth over.

I had a total ghettofab CFL system that looked like a mobil you hang over an infant's crib. I dropped it on top of the plant snapping the main stem, but not separating the plant.

Some wooden rods & tape let it heal.

My last grow was the first grow I had done in 4 years for reasons I would rather not discuss...monopoly.jpg

The only thing I did different than in my previous grows was I used the entire Fox Farm line of nutes (the dirty dozen) I usually use only the liquid and soluble trios (Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, Beastie Bloomz, Open Sesame, and Cha-Ching). Anyway, I made a total idiotic newbie error and followed the FF recipe without deviation or amending and WAYYY over fed them. Burned the shit out of 1 of them to the point where I was sure it had TMV! Boy did I feel dumb when I realized my mistake. Luckily the other was much more resistant to over feeding. Still it was a decent harvest and I learned a valuable lesson....an old dog cannot only learn new tricks...he can also learn new ways to fuck up the old ones.
