How I Make Hash

Here's how I make top shelf hash.

I use a trim tray (trimtray.com) with a 150 micron screen (orange) and a 100 micron screen (white), a pollen press (the silver thing on the left) and a bag of buds.

63.40 grams of seeded Kona Gold. I normally don't use buds, unless it has seeds. It's a waste to use good bud. Use trim or seeded bud.

If you want quantity over quality, freeze the herb beforehand. Freezing releases more trichomes, but also releases more plant material. I prefer quality, so I didn't freeze it. First off, I lay the herb in the tray.

Then I remove the stems, and crush up the product. Then I let it dry out by just letting it sit out for a couple of hours. This is important, otherwise a lot wiill be wasted.

Okay, I am done making the kief. The process is to rub the herb in your hands, breaking it down to powder. Then shake the screen, like you are panning for gold. Then take a plastic credit card, and rub it over the screen. Don't try to force the material through the screen, just over it. Keep doing this until no more powder is being collected. There was a lot of seeds. The seeds alone weighed 25.18 grams. I should of weighed the stems too, but I just threw them away.

Final kief collection. Just eyeballing, I say 3.5-4.0 grams. Next part comes the kief/pollen press.

First I clean the press with rubbing alcohol, rinse with hot water and dry. I then put some olive oil on a paper towel, and wipe it down, putting a very thin layer of oil on the areas that come in contact with the kief. I then fill the press with kief and begin clamping down the press until it won't go no further. Open it up and remove the hash.

The final product, 3.43 grams of sticky/icky hash.
