how many lights can fit

ok say i have a light fixture that is able to fit 3 bulbs with the max of 60 watts per bulb. would it be safe to put a y conn. and have 2 43 watt cfls equal to 86 watts coming from each one? or do it need a new fixture?

well im wanting to double the lights so i want 6 light on this one fixture. so what your saying is i need a new fixture to run 6 43 watt cfls

Yes either a new fixture or lower wattage bulbs. You have to be SAFE and never go over the maximum wattage allowed. LAst thing you want is your house burnt to the ground over some lights.
