How much can a 800 sq. ft greenhouse produce?

Hi guys I had a couple questions. Right now I currently live in Florida which has extremely strict laws when it comes to marijuana cultivation. I've been wanting to grow for awhile now and it has always been fun educating myself and reading about it so I thought I'd actually pursue it by moving to Colorado where the laws are more lenient. What I'm picturing right now is a mid-size greenhouse and was wondering what kind of numbers I can pull from lets say 800 sq. ft of space? The goal is to have a setup that can produce around 10 lb's a month(not exactly sure what I need for this so any input would be greatly appreciated). I figured I'd start with something more manageable. Thanks!

You will need multiple light dep green houses to pull those numbers monthly and its going to be a full time job pulling tarps every morning and evening, watering, feeding, plucking leaves, trimming, spraying for bugs, etc.

well, first off, unless you plan on heating the greenhouse, you don't run a perpetual in a greenhouse, you run one crop (two if you have a long season and a quick growing strain) per year. so you won't be harvesting per month in a greenhouse. especially in Colorado, where the winters are cold as hell.
also, as waterproof said, theres a lot of work involved in running a a roughly 20 foot by 40 foot greenhouse. even with some automation, you still have to be a part of the process. if you use drip irrigation, you still have to mix the nutes and load up the res, maintain it daily.
in that kind of area i would run at least 25 plants. thats 25 plants you have to top, prune, lst, inspect for pests...daily.
i wouldn't jump into this with both feet, i'd at least try running 3 or 4 plants at a time to get the feel for it, then step up in stages. if you still feel this way after running a dozen at once, then buy your greenhouse

as to how much you can pull per month...it depends entirely on your ability as a grower. you can give ten people the exact same set up, with the exact same seeds, and you'll get ten different harvest amounts. in a perfect world, you should be able to pull at least 5 pounds out of that area a month, if it was set up as a perpetual grow...unfortunately, this is far from a perfect world, and you'd probably be lucky to get a pound a month out of that area till you learn how to do it...and how long that takes is another of those things thats entirely dependent on your abilities

I do not mind doing all of the above I actually find it therapeutic and exciting to do!

I do not mind heating it but I'm assuming getting one huge crop wouldn't be such a bad thing.. My goal is to at least gain 3 lb's of green for each month spent doing it. Ultimately to pay for the bills and to make it worthwhile. So lets say I have 6 months to grow I want at least 18 lb's out of it. What do you believe I would need to have this type of production? I will definitely start small but I'm looking ahead. :)

Competition isn't a problem for me. I have quite a few connections and the money will come. I just need to gain experience and hopefully some helpful tips :)

In that case you could do 18 one pound plants, or 36 half pound plants.

I pulled 20 lbs on 12 plants in a 20-30ft gh,120 days! that's in shitty maine weather

I have family in Florida and they buy weed in Colorado and have it delivered to Florida. It's so cheap and the market is so flooded that you can't make money at it. I get most of my genetics from Colorado and the laws may not be like you think, I'm not sure how much research you're done but I was really surprised by the difference in rec and production.

But if you're serious do yourself a favor and check the zoning laws in the area you thinking of moving to.

Also consider that a grow operation consist of more than just a flower room.

Please dont come to colorado with a half baked (pun fully intended) dream, our traffic is shit already. Its not the wild west, yes its legal but you cant be running hundreds of plants at once unless you have a commercial license. 6 plants is all you can have as a home grower (total of 12 for 2+ adults in the same home) 3 in veg and 3 in flower.

So to run hundreds like you want, you need to establish Colorado residency, apply for a MED Key badge, form an LLC to run your company under, file applications with the state to get the proper licenses, find a building or land, establish your infrastructure, buy all the equipment needed, buy your genetics, start your grow, pray nothing goes wrong, harvest, dry , cure, market all these pounds your expecting. Now that means opening your own dispensary and good luck unless your a few more million to spend after your initial start up costs, or selling illegally and eventually having your leather cheerio prolapsed.

So I say again PLEASE DO NOT COME TO COLORADO! California and Nevada are rec legal too. Plus they got better weather.

10lbs a month? You need maybe 150 square feet for your flower room, but you have much to learn, young padawan.

Start with one square meter, like a 4'x4' tent and grow in stuff that size until you can get a pound out of it every time, then move on. You can produce a pound every month from a spare bedroom, with multiple stages running. Much to learn, lurk more.

Dude, you don't even know enough to know what questions to be asking right now. Not insulting you, it's the simple truth of how people acquire new skills. Don't look that far ahead, grow plants first, like 1-4 at a time. Grow some tomatoes or peppers or lemons or anything that loves light indoors for practice. Incremental improvement, kaizen, hai.

i know most of you aren't old enough to remember "green acres" on tv. it was about a wealthy new york lawyer and his society wife moving from 5th avenue to bumfuck tn. to be farmers. needless to say, he didn't do well as a farmer.
thats what these kind of questions and plans make me think of, Oliver Wendell Douglas packing up to be a farmer, with no experience, but a box full of farming books.

Good post, the truth is what he needs to hear. Even in NV you gotta have a lot cash just for the "permit" then the grow facility has be approved by the state with security and expensive cameras all over shit. I've been growing for over 12 years and can out grow the legal stuff (in this state) but I'm retired and sick of working. I saw a piece on Vise called WEED Etiquette on the homelessness in Denver with high fucking rents and a shortage of grow spaces. I'm afraid it's way too late since the money people already have the advantage over talent and enthusiasm.
