How to save a reg seed

Heya I got 10! Banana zkittles bx regs like rare pack can’t get em again shit
How would I go about saving the strain without keeping a mom

I can grow out find males n females

collect all pollen for fridge
Self the female to get fem seeds

Without going into f2 which is apparently a giant game I wouldn’t have room for currently

how els can I save this strain without a mom for future?
I got another stable strain acid dawg from karma regs Who is a bx x bx I could cross to get seeds from would that be an f1 ? And then again fridge pollen and self a female ?

You could just open pollinate using all 10 seeds. That will give you a ton of seeds (if you end up with males and females, which you should), but you can select from them at your leisure in the future-f2s are great. You could also just select your favorite female and self it and just make a lot of seeds. When preserving a strain, the idea is to use as many males and females as you are able, it's really not about selection (some breeders don't even pull hermies in preservation runs). Just polinate a few lower branches with pollen from the best male. Easy, I do this with every strain I run

I know f2 unlocks the genotype variations and is responsible for the hundred new strains to be found
But doesn’t that make the growth of them seeds then very unpredictable ? Giv small yields long short plants etc ? And a lot of years to stabilise right ?
What’s the advantage of going f2 I will do fem selection and I will take f2 seeds for future once I understand them

how long can one realistically preserve seeds? Are any of you seed preservation junkies?

You can safely store seeds in the fridge for 10 years, maybe longer. Freezer for even longer, but you cant unfreeze and then refreeze again. Once unfrozen you should germ quick as far as I know.

I also had luck with 10 year old seeds that were not stored in the fridge, but germ rates are in the 40%. Either way the longer the lower the germ rates.

I actually spent a lot of time today organising my seed hoard, and putting them in small bottles with the end goal of putting them all in the fridge. Here's how (most of it) looks as of now

I'm working on getting something in size that I can put these in the fridge. Lots of fun crosses I made in here.
