Humidity issues!!

I’m not sure what the cause of it is, but I’ve been having issues with high humidity recently. I’m about 4 to 5 weeks into my grow and this is the first time it’s happening. Humidity was staying around 55%, but now it’s always around 65%. I recently up-potted to 5 gallon pots, could that be the issue? I have no idea...

I put a dehumidifier in the room, but it isn’t doing much of anything. It’s a small one anyway that I didn’t spend too much money on. I’m growing in a 2x4 grow tent and I have a 4” jet exhaust fan that I’m running on its highest setting, which I didn’t have to do before (the middle setting has been perfectly fine up until now.

How can I keep the humidity down? Are there other ways than a dehumidifier? If not, what dehumidifier works for you?

Running the active exhaust fan will passively pull fresh air into the tent.

Ideally you want/need the intake air RH lower than your desired RH.

If you run a dehumidifier in the tent, just know that running the exhaust is replacing the dehumidified air with new fresh air from the passive intakes.

Dehueys generate heat.

Bigger pots and more vegetation = higher RH.

A decent size dehuey will be your best bet, especially during flower. 65% actually isn’t all that bad as long as you have good air circulation. I run my RH during veg between 65-70, never have any issues. Heat and exhaust should keep your RH down though. Where do you have your humidity probe hanging?

Good point, I've got one canopy height, pot height and both out of direct light. Sometimes it's easier to control the environment in the actual room , rather than the tent. Depending on microclimate

Those small dehumidifiers are called "peltier" or "thermo-electric" dehumidifiers. I've tried them before and they don't remove much water. Typically they are meant for a closet sized space-I see people putting them in their grow tents all the time, but it's pointless if you are pulling air in from another room. What you need to do is dehumidify the entire room that the tent is in. To do that, you need a proper compressor dehumidifier. You'll be amazed at how much water it pulls out of the air compared to the peltier unit. Look at the 30 pint/1500 sq feet compressor dehumidifiers on Amazon, there are tons of them. Ignore the sq foot recommendations, they are all grossly inflated, instead look at how many amps/watts they draw. A 200-300 watt compressor dehumidifier will work great for a room or small apartment. Another nifty thing about them is they produce some heat, which is lovely in the winter, but can suck during the summer. I'm using a Homelabs 1500 sq ft model now in a 400 sq foot space, quite happy with it.
