I am here because of the Air Bag!

it was 15 hours ago, i went with my friend in my 2002 Mercedes 230 coupe to a movie rental got a DVD then passed by a drive through took sandwiches and as i was leaving, a maniac driver came straight to my side door at high speed with a BIG Land Rover 4x4 and hit me hard, the car was displaced like 12feet! The left side airbags both opened up flawlessly, supporting the lower body and my head from the left, and i went out of the car intact! only feeling disoriented from the shock but not even a headache or anything! I have been driving for 14 years now and this is my first car to car collision. The airbag is a great invention i mean if it hadn't been, the least i could expect now is to be in a hospital with my head injured and a broken arm, that is if i would survive such a head injury. Mercedes Benz is awesome! The car is 2002 model, that airbag has been sitting there for 10 years now waiting for the right time to work and it did what it's supposed to do!
Just wanted to share this story, as i am still feeling the thrill right now.

dude...relax...seriously...you might be in a shitton of pain from delayed shock here shortly...I was in a car accident before that I was fine other than my shoulder hurting a little bit(head on collision, hit the steering wheel)...next morning i couldn't move...and i now have back issues for life...

just take it easy, you might have some pain later on. thank GOd you had side airbags. You couldv'e easily died.

Interesting, very glad to hear you made it out alive. Not really related but if about 28 years ago my mom HAD worn her seatbelt i wouldnt be here, or her. instead of just breaking her neck in 3 places(amongst other injuries my mom was in a coma for 6 months then made a miracle full recovery, hell my grandma flew 18 ft and broke both arms and ruined her one shoulder) she would of been cut in half by the dash/steering wheel.

btw, it was a drunk driver who hit them when they were stopped at a stop sign.

I wouldnt be here if I wasn't a beast. 60 into a tree no seatbelt, airbag didn't go off. Walked Away, don't really believe in him but still thank GD to this day.
