I made a big batch of weed infused MCT oil today. I put it in a cryovac bag and into a sous vide machine to infuse overnight. I came home from work anr went to pick up the bag and im guessing the heat and weight of all the weed and oil inside melted the seal and the bag exploded and all the weed and oil fell into the sous vide water.

What should i do? Can i just let the water evaporate off or what? Is it lost? Can i save it?

Can i just let it steep like this for a couple of days to infuse, strain it into a pot and boil off the water or something?

I'd try to save it. Can you think of a way to siphon the oil off the top of the water? It'd be pretty easy to siphon the water out until it got low and the oil layer got close. Sucks though.

Yeah but it had only been infusing a few hours, i was thinking to leave it in the sous vide a few days and see if the water evaporates off at 74°C and then move it into a big pot to try boil off the remainder at a slightly higher temp before straining it out. The water is green im guessing from.a good portion of the good stuff that i dont want to lose by just siphoning off the top

I always use a wire rack to keep my bags away from the heating element when doin sous vide. I get scared this could happen.

I think I figured it out. Because it's in a clear see-through Sous Vide I can elevate it above a bucket and rather than siphone the oil off the top, instead siphone the water from the bottom because I can see the oil level drop to the bottom. Then I'll strain it, squeeze out the matter and then freeze it so I don't have to deal with as much water. I think this will work a bit better.
