HEY GROWERS, THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY MY THREAD, I REALLY NEED SOMEONE WITH EXPIERCENCE TO TELL ME WHAT THESE SPOTS ARE .......... WHAT DEFICIENCY OR EXCESS I HAVE DONE!!! IM IN FFOF SOIL UNDER 240W LED IN 3X3. I HAVE USED THE ORGANIC PORTION OF THE FOX FARM NUTRIENTS ... THESE SPOTS DID KIND OF START WHEN I STARTED USING THIS CAL MAG SO MAYBE IT WAS ME ... ALSO I PH MY DISTILLED BEFORE WATERING TO 6.5... could me using this pH Up have increase the potash so much that now it's locking out Cal Mag is this ph up okay to use for soil?

Have you seen any bug or anything flying around? I know fungus gnats cause a similar issue. Just a suggestion

Has anyone ever posted a pic of a perfect plant grownin FFOF? They are always a little spotty. I hope you are using cal mag regularly with your distilled water.

Step one, rule out pests.

I see a bunch of white dots on your plants. Is that dust or are they mites?

Step two, mildly flush your medium.

If you think you might have a lock out in flowering, use plain, distilled water to flush your plant. Don't add more nutrients until you are sure what the issue is.

Step three, Your own research.

You posted a few clear pictures which is great. However, you will get five different ideas on what is wrong for each photo. You should assemble what you feel you need to help you diagnose the issue. Once you have a hypothesis and pictures of what you feel is support for your hypothesis, come show the forum.

We need your water schedule, light schedule, full nutrient line, strain, growing medium w/amendments, do you use city water, distilled, R.O. or well water?

There are alot of variables to consider and we do like to help, but what we do better is teach.

If your only using the Big bloom out of the 3 part, then you need more food. Thats soil food mainly.

That ph up is great but its straight K , so you have to factor that into your food. They need a balenced diet and your not giving them any N or P to go with their K. If you add the NP to your K then it will go away fast , if you dont then them spot will get bigger and uglier.

But isn't the microbes delivering the nutrients

yes sir! they sure are but where are they getting the food? The FFOF dont have much in it. A 2 foot plant can eat whats in the soil in a week or so. Smaller plants can live off OF only for 6 weeks ish. (lil less , lil more depending on genetics) The ph up you have is just pure K plant food. So even if theres enough food in the soil , they are getting all that extra K without the NP to go with it. That could lock out some of the other elements like MG. I dont think your to the point of lockout yet, i just think you need to balance you food better. You dont need the ph up at all. Give her 7ml per gallon of Grow Big with your normal Tbs or two of Big Bloom every 2 or 3 waterings and she will thank you!

After watching another video I believe it's nitrogen deficiency I hadn't fed nitro for about 8 weeks since the beginning so I believe if I start feeding a balanced diet low in nitrogen I'll be ok ...

you have caught it before it progressed enough to show a definite "N def" but thats what it is. your on top of it sir !

Could never figure out why so many have issues with FFOF. Other than some regional differences in sources of the elements used.

FFOF can run a plant “ all the way thru “ a grow whether auto or photo. Medium will begin some exhaustion after 6 weeks but can be RECHARGED with a simple top dress or Tea / Soil drench. You just keep medium charged at intervals of grow. Not rocket science .... no need for distilled ( another head scratcher on use ) ... yes distilled can remove things like crypto / lead / pathogens etc.

But .... it also removes lots of dissolved solids like calcium / potassium and other trace elements. Which ironically the grower has to “ ratio “ back into it by way of feed or supplement . What other plant on earth NEEDS distilled water ? Outside grass , bushes , other plants dont give two shits about the water. Even the chlorine extraction pulls that element - and plants DO USE chlorine in some plant processes . Its just a plant .... no magic involved... no unicorn sweat or magic pee water.
Tap / city water works fine.

Big bloom is the only organic of the 3 ( trio pack ) and is a supplement to the bennies in the soil. It can be used throughout grow but not alone. The addition of fresh FFOF will charge the host soil and allow the big bloom to “ complete “ soil with ewc / kelp and other micronutrients.

IMO .... add more ffof ... water in ( tap ) ... drop ph 6.5 ( to allow for minor drift ) - FFOF is ph’d at 6.3.
FFOF will add more of what is being pulled from host soil WITHOUT guessing ... since plant has already acclimated to it . Spots are from the calmag deficiency... led grows often need a bump at times.
