i think i am finally read to germinate

I have my cabinet built, i just need to line with mylar and set up my CFL's. I am doing the DIY bubblepics setup, I just need need to cut the holes ontop. What all should I do to prep for my seedlings, such as preping the rockwool and hydroton rocks and nutes or whatever and ph. I have the three fox farm bottles for my nutes and a ph regulation kit. What should the ph be and all when starting these out. DOes the system need to be delivering water 24-7 or what. I AM just asking all this because I have spent alot of time on this forum and making my setup and spent some money so I dont want to mess them up right away. So anyone that is expierencied with this system please reply on how to get my plants started. thqnks, I will be keepin an uo to date grow journal on here for you guys as well.

well do you want to germinate or just put them in the rockwool and let them germinate in there?

if your anxious and want a head start. put them in a wet paper towel on a plate with a bowl on top of them and in a warm spot. I used to use the top of my water heater, now I put them on top of my grow box.

now water the rockwool with 1/4 strength nute water at a ph of 5.5-6 ish I assume you don't have a digital ph and its cool I don't have one either. dont worry about it to much. if it gets above 6.5 bring it down a bit if it goes below 5.5 bring it up a little. rise the hydroton in a bowl of water then put it in your net pots leave about a 1 inch spot to put the rockwool in then surround the rockwool with rinsed hydroton. leave your pumps on 24/7 constant delivery to the small root zone is key. dont use any nutes yet wait till you see 2 little leaves come out then use 1/4 strength nutes. did I answer all of your questions?

Yea pretty much what do you mean soak the wool in 1/4 strenth nute solution? is rockwool nuetral? Do you know what nutes i am talking about that I have? Its the 3 quart size bottles that fox farm sell together. Its grow big, tiger bloom, and big bloom. Which do I soak the wool in? Just explain the nutes to me and how to administer them. I have learned alot on this forum but the nute part seems to be where most people mess up.

And also I dont have a digital ph meter or a ppm meter, it was a little pricey for my first grow.

im sory i cant help with your questions because im hydro-illiterate.

but i like noob growers who are prepared, set up and have done their research. its kinda tiresome hearing the same 100 noob questions asked over and over again, and im glad all of your questions are complicated, informed, and reasonable. id give you a dozen +reps if i could

I use ph water on everything just pour the water on it until it dribbles out the bottom dont like force it to expand. and the 1/4 nute solution thats if you just have to use nutes some guys do I don't but when I say 1/4 take what they say to add to a gallon and add 1/4 of that to the gallon so you would use 1 tsp of big bloom and 1/2 tsp of grow big do you have a fox farm feeding schedule?

ec is about like ppm just a way to measure dissolved solids. just stick to the schedule and don't worry about that right now

EC is the international standard for measurement of electrical conductivity. In the US PPM, is more common. Same thing just different scales of measure, kinda like temp C and F.
