This will be my 2nd attempt to get from start to harvest. I bought Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil and a 3 gal fabric pot. They won't be delivered until Saturday. I had a small 4in ceramic pot and organic miragle gro soil I'm using until I can transplant when I get my good stuff. I started germinating before I purchased the stuff I needed. I realize I could have probably kept the seed germinating until the supplies got here but I didn't want to risk losing the seed in the paper towel. So I just popped it into what I had.
The seed is a Critical Purple Auto.
Let's see how far I get this time.

Please don't use soil with fertilizer until seedling is a plant
Just buy a small bag of peat no nutrients first couple weeks and I would start your seed now
This was all they had. Nothing in it nutrient wise. Took pics of surgery. Off to a rocky start already but I think we'll be okay :)

Actually that particular Miracle-Gro only has organic amendments in it. There was a Miracle-Gro thread that got me looking into some of their newer products. This is what I found out about that Performance Plus Organic container mix.

Ingredients:
Peat Moss, processed forest products, softwood bark, compost, perlite, yucca, feather meal, soybean meal, bone meal, sulfate of potash.

It was a surprise to me. But it looks like a decent soil. It's similar to many cannabis specific soils that cost more. I'd use it. But It's overpriced at $12 for 25 quarts or .8 cubic feet at Home Depot. I can get a 1.5 cubic foot bag of FFOF for $13 at the shop down the street.

I'm not trying to promote Miracle-Gro but I have to admit that they seem to be upping their game with the Performance Plus soils. bongsmilie

OP slow down take your time and get the stuff you really need. Your plant will thank you.

Some MG soils are ok. I use one on my autos and it’s fine.

Yeah my other auto was mainly miracle gro mix. But I wanted to try the ffof I kept reading about. I'm going slow haha. I live like .3 miles from a home depot so it's no biggie running to get what I need. I fucked up by germinating my seed before I bought everything. It was ready to go after like a day and I wasn't expecting that. I'm chillin now.

Day 8. Sorry for the pics not being that great. Future pics will be taken with a better camera. I have noticed that this strain of plant looks so different than my previous grow. These leaves are far more pointy and serrated at this early stage. Neat stuff. Hope everyone is staying sane if you're all couped up at home ❤

Day 20. I transplanted her today into a 3 gal fabric pot. I had plans to top this plant because of the longer timeframe of this auto. But I'm too much of a bitch to do it. I'm going to hold off on mods until I can get some successful grows under my belt. Hope everyone is doing good. I go back to work Tuesday, company is switching over to hand sanitizer production :)
