In Need of a Plant Doctor (Root Rot)

I have tried everything i can think of to get rid of this stinking (literaly) slimy phthium... =[

I have done the following:
  • Cleaned the res several times
  • Soaked the roots in Hydrogen Peroxide solution
  • Flushed my system with Clearex
  • Added H202 to the solution
  • Added Hygrozyme to the solution
  • Lowered the nutrient concentration to 1/4
  • Turned off several lights (for recovery and temps)

My res temps WERE at 70-72F but they are now constantly below 70 and in the 68 range...

WHAT CAN BE DONE TO RECOVER FROM PYTHIUM/ROOT ROT...??

If you need more info just ask or visit the journal in my sig... =[

Thanks... =\

your ph is probably off, which is why its not solving itself. If i were you i would chop off those roots as they are dead, and as you can see the plant is wilting, which means its not using its roots anymore. So the dead roots are going to take oxygen from the water as they continue to rot, making the new roots which will soon be dropping from your cup die. Get a ph meter and maintain between 5.5 and 6.0 You want to keep your ppms real low like youve been doing, and raise your water level to the bottom of the cup while the roots are reestablished. Basically all root problems come down to PH, PPM, water temps, and dying material in the res, or light is getting into your res, creating algae, which is stealing your o2. if your buckets are slimy on the inside this is a problem.

My ph is kept constant at around 6...

I was hesitant to chop anything off and the Hygrozyme is supposed to turn dead material into usable plant material... Though i might try cutting some back...

Slime (pythium) was a problem on the side of the res before not so much now but that is because i have been changing the res every day to fight this stuff... =[

Grow faq said that phthium is a fungus... =[

Thanks for the help gropro... =]
