I just bought a new lumatek attis 300w led and im super excited to start my first indoor grow but reading the manual of this awesome piece of technology i read some things that i simply cannot understand and stuck since im a noob so i would appreciate any help given! the phrases written on the manual are : '' Ensure external switching gear can cope with the inrush current of the LED fixture. Always use a double pole contactor suitable for switching a capacitive load. Never use household timers to switch the led fixture! ''

so my questins are :
what is a household timer?? is it the ''analog'' timer switch that i should never use?? ( which is ironically the only one i know how to use)
would a digital programmable electronic timer do then?? or do i need that so called double pole contractor only ?? and if so how do i use that thing??

I use outdoor analog timers myself, you shouldn’t see any issues with that, but like stated above: digital with a backup can save you in the event of a power outage (this way you don’t have to worry about re-adjusting the timer again)

I've used those old school timers since 70's....they are simple and do the job...somewhat nostalgic now............I'm a follower ofThroeau's " simplfy, simplify, simplify "..........If power goes off, no light regardless of timer.
