Can someone maybe tell me what this means for those of us that were caught in the mmpr?
The big win here is that the right to grow for medical patients has been deemed a right under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
The details to be sorted out and implemented by the government within 6 months.
But essentially, if you were under the old program and had a license to grow, from a practical sense you would not get convicted if you were to start growing again today. Lots of details to sort out, government and health Canada could drag their feet and hold things up, even appeal. But it's unlikely that the feds would appeal this decision with legalization on the horizon.
Be safe, be stealth even, but I wouldn't worry about growing if that's your concern and you have an MMPR license to grow (legally valid or not, the reason it wasn't legal was what was challenged, so essentially this decision males it legal again).
