Hey Mon,

Get a 2nd five gallon bucket. Put it next to the one you are growing in and transfer the plant into the spare bucket. You might need someone to steady or hold the top as you raise the rootball above the bucket lip to transfer it. Replace your water and nutrients or flush, whichever you are going to do. Transfer the plant back to its grow bucket. I'm doing this with 10 plants individually right now since they are in 3 different flowering areas, I can't use a controller. So I have spare buckets and use them to help change out the reservoirs.

i did the whole bucket next to bucket switcharoo but my closet is only 2 x 3 x 6 feet:wall: i think oldmandroman is right i am going to get a pump. one i have seen at home depot hooks up to a drill and you run a piece of hose into the res which runs to the pump and then i will attach another hose to the other end to drain into another empty bucket:bigjoint:

flushing is not necessary as plants only absorb nutrients and not chemicals. it has something to do with cell membranes and such. Some good growers here do not flush. If you foliar feed then maybe you should stop that before harvesting.....

so blazinbudsforever if you don't flush can you explain your harvest schedule, like how many days prior to harvest do you just add water, or when to not water at allbongsmilie

I thought part of the idea of flushing was to reset the nutes from a baseline of zero. In other words, when you keep the water it has some nutes in it at a higher level than others because plants don't always use them 1:1:1. So when you add the nute ratio you want, you are adding it to who knows what that is already there.

:lol:yes i flush my toilet. so i went out and bought a drill pump and a hose. total about 19 bucks at home depot, took the 15 foot hose cut it in half, added a new 5/8 hose thread end, now i have 2 pieces with threads to thread on each side of the pump. then all you do is attach it to your drill and go. it does take a little while to get 4 gallons out. pump is rated at 225 gph. here are some pix:bigjoint:
