I notice that my daughter is gaining so much weight. She looks bigger each day. Maybe because can consume large amounts of food and feel unable to stop eating. Is that normal? Do you think she has an eating disorder?

Yep, sounds like it.
Maybe you may want to stealthy ask her how she is doing. You know, see if she is dealing with some health or social problem. These days social problems are in your face, shit.
Have her get an medical check up. Nothing there.
May have to seek some professional consoling.
My daughter did the same thing. Turned out to be psychological.
She deals with it daily. But, has been improving with exercise and diet.
Think positive. :peace:

How young is she? I do eat a lot whenever I have a problem. You should talk to her, to know what's the problem if ever there is.

Thanks for all your concerns and recommendations. I have to talk to my daughter first because I found out that depression might be the cause of binge eating. Probably, it's appropriate to seek help from a health expert.

Sounds like comfort eating, maybe a psychologist/counselling will help get over whatever troubles are causing her to turn to food like this as she may find it easier talking to a pro about these things rather than talk to you.

I'm just thought it that way. Thank you for your concern. You might be correct that a psychologist or a counseling can be a good solution.

In western society, it is extremely common for people to eat high quantities of processed foods which leads to excess weight gain. Ensure that she reduces or eliminates her consumption of fast food and other processed snacks.

I'd probably attempt to talk to her about her current diet and that she should reduce her consumption of unhealthy foods to improve her health before going further to therapy etc.

Looks like your daughter has a bad eating habit. You can at least make an effort for removing this habit of her by taking help from there. blog.trans4m.co/how-to-break-bad-eating-habits/

I couldn't agree more with this OP. Thanks for the motivation Ringsixty!

OP,

You have a daughter with a binge eating disorder. Please accept this advice from someones son, who has one, and has always had one.

For me, most of the time, It is sadness. Upset that i have to hold my thoughts inside. So i stuff them down with food.

I'm an angry person. A friendly one too. But it takes a lot of time to myself to freely express it. Otherwise it makes me anxious.

I've had to find hobbies in life, that help me lead a better lifestyle. Whether its been bushwalking, farming, cooking, horticulture, or beating the shit out of other blokes at a gym. It lets my anger out.

But it took me many years to figure out what i enjoy, and it killed me. Because it hurt me, then my parents could see it. So they blamed themselves. So in turn i blamed myself more. Depression got worse.

Please be there for your daughter bro. I'm not suggesting you are not. But it will save her life.

Takes big balls to ask for advice like this. Especially in a place such as this.

All respect to you mate, and i hope your daughter is ok.

:peace:

Binge eating disorder is a common eating disorder where you frequently eat large amounts of food while feeling powerless to stop and extremely distressed during or after eating. Binge eating disorder typically begins in late adolescence or early adulthood, often after a major diet. During a binge, you may eat even when you’re not hungry and continue eating long after you’re full. You may also binge so fast you barely register what you’re eating or tasting. Unlike bulimia, however, there are no regular attempts to “make up” for the binges through vomiting, fasting, or over-exercising.
Thanks for the wikipedia copy paste.....
