Is my pot too small?

That's a double decker! Yes, transplant to a bigger pot soon.

What you see above the soil is about what's going underneath. I'm sure the roots are wrapped around themselves and could really benefit from more soil.

I'd recommend using some scissors and cutting down the side. The two pots could be a nightmare when transplanting. Be gentle and try not to damage the roots too much.

instead of cutting the bottom off or whatever why didn't transplant into a completely bigger pot
That is what I transplanted it into. The pot it was in before, when it was given to me, was even smaller. I didn't have a big wide pot so I figured I stick two together because I'd read that roots travel down before they spread out. This was last Wednesday. Is it alright to transplant it again so soon?

I will try and get one tomorrow. What size do you think I should get for this plant? It's a few days into 12/12. Not looking like I'm going to get a very good yield from it.

Tough call on this. This is when the plant wants to really stretch and build more bud sites. Last thing you want to do is hammer it again with a transplant procedure. It will stunt the growth for a week or two and that is when she would normally add 1/3 to 1/2 in size. Judging by the "Good N Country" album I'd say a 3 or 5 gallon container should do it.

Well considering how tall the pots are, it would need transplanted into something just as tall or taller. 3-5 gallon should do it.

might want to think about putting it back into veg until the transplant shock is gone.

what are your lights?

Thanks for the help. I think the growth's already been stunted a lot but it seems I'm going to have to try and transplant it again asap

I had a peak today and the roots have only just started coming out of the first pot so if I do it tomorrow there should be time. I'm using a single red 125W CFL since last Thursday, and I turn the blue one on for a few hours in the middle of each day. It's grown loads since then, really stretched out and is covered in preflowers.

Given the fact that you are using a low watt light source, leave it in the container(s) you have.

Keep on flowering as is because without an upgrade to brighter light source, it is not gonna hurt your yield much.

If you could use the sun or HIDs then I would transplant to a 3 to 5 gallon container.
Good luck.

Now I am conflicted. Which is the correct path. You are wearing a scarf on your head and look more like a prophet whilst the other guy looks like some kind of pot smoking space marine from the future. TBH I just want to get this grow out of the way. It's a kind of rescue grow. At first I was I thought if I got 28 grams out of it I'd be very happy, now I think it looks so weak but I'd still be happy with 14. Once this one is out of the way I can start growing some autoflowers now that I have all the stuff. And maybe get another light.

If the roots are barely coming through the second pot, I would not transplant. I would continue with flowering as is.

Your lighting is not going to make the plant grow much more. If you had my lights that's a different answer.

So, yeah, listen to the sheik.

Hard to predict your bud production. There are so many variables.

You should set your expectations low for the amount of light the plant is getting.

Think about adding 5 or 6 more bulbs now.

I built this fixture in an hour using my local hardware store. You can just buy sockets and hang or clamp them all around.

But get some more light in there and you will be rewarded with more buds.

100w is fine depending on the space it's in. Cfls don't yield much ull get maybe a half dry
Here's a shot of the cupboard I converted for it. Got the 125W red above under a reflective hood I got second hand. The bulb hanging done the side is the blue one that I just turn on for a few hours a day. I'm running on a next to nothing budget and have been keeping tracking of the electricity I'm spending (running on a keycard meter) and I can't afford to spend much more. Think if I got another red bulb and swapped it for the blue one it'd make all the difference? This is all just practise for when I start my first indoor grow proper. My goal is 1oz a month. Planning on doing this with perpetual autoflowers. Do you think this is possible with what I've got going? If not what am I lacking - just more light? Thanks everyone for the feedback

Regardless, you have to stay in your budget. Even adding bulbs will increase your electric a little bit. And there's the cost of the bulbs / fixtures. Once you get through the first grow you will have an idea of what your operation will produce. But yes, more light equals more bud.

This is my plant at 1 week flower. Primary difference is 400 watts of high intensity lighting. Each plant produced over 2 oz. of bud. I spent over $1500 so far on the 2'X3" closet. So light and money = bigger buds, lol! Good luck!
