Is now the time to ditch the hps?

Is it time for you to ditch the HPS / HID setup once and for all?

There have been so many claims from the led industry over the last 10 years and it has not helped.

Here we have very real alternatives and upgrades to the tried and tested HPS bulb

Meet the HLG 650R

Over 1730 ppf from just 630W. This is going to match the latest and greatest 1000W glass bulbs.

The quality and weight of these lights show they mean business before you even switch them on.

3,888!!! leds found on the 650R across 4 diablo boards. Count how many the other manufacturers use

There are so many lights to choose from and every budget is perfectly fine but you could do far worse than considering HLG.

Summer is not too far away for us in the North Hemisphere so why battle all the heat

Did you know Samsung make the led boards?

Please take a second to look at this led porn

Just after 10am and its -23C........usually colder this time of year here in my part of Canada.
I grow small personal batches of 6 to 8 plants in a 8 x 10 ft insulated shed.
Heated in winter, AC in summer, 400w HID/HPS. I have one dedicated 15amp circuit for the
winter months, and bring another above ground line in summer to operate the AC ( this second
above ground line is used for water heaters in stock tanks in winter)

Been thinking of maybe trying LED......is it worth it to change up for these small quantities?......thx

With those winter temps you cannot go wrong with HPS.

For Summer i would say it is ideal for you to turn to the led. A 260w Quantum Board will outyield the glass counterpart and you will have 140w ( plus ballast heat ) multiply by 3.41 BTU/hour less heat to remove via the A/C. It will pay for itself.
