Anyone have a special recipe for jacks 321 for rdwc that they have found to work well thinking of switching to jacks

That's the basic recipe. Mix the 5-12-26 first, then the epsom and then the cal nitrate. Should end up with somewhere around 750ppm. I find that if you need to adjust the ppm's up or down, just use the same ratios.

No, just run it at the 3-2-1 ratio grams per gallon. I've used that number exactly when not using intense lighting, but full strength is great when your light intensity is correct. (3.6g-2.4g-1.2g is considered full strength)

This video goes really in depth, and is worth a watch.

I don't know if it applies here cause I've not used jacks, but with GH, CalMag HAS TO be mixed FIRST and dissolved fully Into the water before adding the other 3 parts to prevent lockout. So I'm not sure if the CalNit is first, then Epsom, then jacks?

I'd run full strength, I normally do unless the plant(s) want(s) less. From rooted clone til basically chop.

@GBAUTO said the order correctly. If you dont you cause bad solution separation and I believe gypsum begins to form thoaing the whole feed out of whack.

Also couple of my leaf stems are purple I use cal mag plus my nutrients have call mag but call for 50-100ppm extra if using ro so is purple stems to much call mag or not enough it is a gmo x grape pie so wondering if just genetics

gypsum begins to form
The gypsum forms from the mixture of cal-nitrate + epsom. You can do the jacks + epsom first, even in the bag, then mix the calnit into a separate bucket, then into the res, to ensure no precipitate. There are some new formulas of theirs that are high in P that would cause a problem also, but if you do calnit separate like above you avoid them all (I think)

@Kindbuds303 - if you switch nutes mid run you lose reference to how the plant has reacted so far. It probably won't kill the plant, but it might mess things up in weird ways, or throw your evaluation of any problem off. LED causes the purple petioles :)

When someone says start low with the mix, instead of the full strength 3.6/2.4/1.2 use 2.6/1.7/.9 for a week, then 3/2/1, then 3.6/2.4/1.2 ... but stop going up if the tips start to burn. What I meant above about losing the reference to the plant, you won't know how it will react to different levels of Jack's because you haven't seen how it react to Jacks at all.

I’m just new to the dwc and actually being able to grow not look over shoulder etc and I’m sure I’m over thinking a lot i mean she looks good now maybe I should wait to start jacks on new lady’s and finish this run with same nutrient I just heard so much good about jacks and the success so many have had etc being a great profile for the plants which the line I’m using now is amazing as well if it’s not broke don’t try and fix it right and my random purple stems I’m told is from led which I was thinking was a deficiency also figuring out exact heat she wants and etc keeping water temp down without a chiller keeping ph right etc but I’m down for challenge I love this shit and wanna do best I can is all rep points to everyone!!!!

If what you're using is working, finish with it. Start your next run with jacks. There's no reason to switch mid run. Just like you said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

BTW, purple stems is usually a lack of cal or mag, sometimes both, but I've found most people solve it with making sure temps are above 80°F. While lights are on, you can honestly be more around 83-85°F. When they turn off, you need to make sure it doesn't plummet either. No less than 73°F or so.

see that makes me scratch head because my nutrients already have cal and mag in it plus I add cal mag to my water because I use ro so after cal mag and before my nutrients it’s at 100ppm I also use silica and now learning if I’m using silica to make that the first thing I mix In or last getting confusing info all that highest my ppm has been is 890 and @fragileassassin told me she looked heavy so I backed off and she is looking 10x better like I said I appreciate everyone’s help and experience is best teacher along with listening to fundamental advice and applying it to do better and make adjustments like I’ve said and I’ve told others just wanna produce best quality meds for me and those around me not to worried about yield rather have some couch numbing body heavy high

wanna get those higher temps but this run is without chiller I have her in a 7gallon tub 8 inch net pot with 3 1/2 gallons of water in the tub if I hooked chiller up to that think would recirculate the water pretty violently I would think maybe I’m wrong just thought chillers used for upwards of 10-20gallons I have chiller brand new in box but was going to use for my next run 5 8gallon square buckets 3 inch pipes and res outside of tent
