Jacks Classic vs. Fox Farm Side by Side Comparison

Here's an update.... Comparison never got off the ground. I got my seeds from bcgrown.50g.com. There have been numerous thread about this guys site. He sent me free purple skunk seeds with my order. None of them germed, he did replace the order and included the purp skunk. I figured I'd use those for the comparison. They were duds. Test failed before it got off the ground. I had a few plant that were flowering and some I sent to flower since I got my order of jacks classic. Here's what I like about jacks. They didn't burn my plants as fox farms has. Less complicated and less mixing than with fox farm. I also like the fact that i can call and talk to a person on the phone. In all fairness I haven't needed to call anyone @ foxfarm so I don't know if they have phone support. Lastly what i like is their price. If anyone has any questions, ask away. What I want to ask those that have used jacks, what, if anything, did they add while using jacks to "beef" up their yield or frostiness? Thanks.

hmm i have also heard good things about jacks and after this is finished I think i may try it out. If I could not tell the difference in the finished product between the two ferts I would rather just mix and water if the results are better than my organic garden. I also plan on trying hydro soon too see if it works beetr for me. subbed

I use Jack's. I add Superthrive, Molasses, and Cal Mag Plus. During veg I use the All Purpose, but during flowering, I use both the All Purpose and the Blossom Booster. It provides enough Nitrogen that most of my fan leaves (which feed the buds) stay healthy and green until I chop the plant.

Doe, when u do use both, what are ur measurments per gallon. Ive never mixed both. If I felt they needed more N, I would just feed All purpose....:)

When I was on phone with the lady @ jacks she recommended using both products. She recommended mixing each in separate containers. I do 1/4 tsp per gallon. But I use 1/2 gal of bloom booster and 1/4 gal of all purpose with 1/4 gal of molasses.

Hmmm - haven't looked at the little thing in awhile. Ok the little plastic scoop it comes with, I use just under the lowest bottom mark of the All Purpose, and just at the lowest bottom mark for the Blossom booster. ( I think the mark is at 1/4 tsp, but the girls are sleeping and the nutes are in there) Every now and again they look like they've had enough, and I skip a feeding. But never burned 'em yet, doing it this way.

About the above post, jacks dynamic duo, CAL MAG and blackstrap molasses and you should be good to go. People put all kinds of funky stuff (enzyms etc) into their medium but really those three things should have you squared away and in my humble noob opinion, will get you better results than someone with equal grow experience as you, using ONLY ff products.

Question I have about jacks

I plan on using coco as a medium and am thinking that I will need more cal mag due to using both jacks and coco than using either with a diff. set of nutes or with a different medium. The cheap price of jacks just seems absolutely perfect for what seems to be the extra nutes you use for coco. Any help is appreciated, I am a newb afterall. :)

Simply contact Jack's and ask em what they would advise for use in coco?

Damn guys thanks for bumping this thread. I just yesterday bought the dynamic duo from their website and was also thinking of trying coco this time. Please let me know what they tell you as far as that goes.

So what do you guys suggest for a feeding schedule using the dynamic duo?

My STP (strain I bred) is currently taking 2 and a half teaspoons per gallon every 2 days :)

Feeding schedule is the worst thing you can do, give em what they want when they want it, learn to read em so you know
