What does your ec do through out the week when you add no water? Does it go up or stay the same? That would tell you if you should add water or not. I run the same system you do and I currently use advanced nutrients but have been looking into switching to jacks. What jacks kit do you have? They make a supplement specifically for RO water.

My ec stays the same or drops slightly. I didn't know they made a ro formula. I just bought it and I'll give it a go.

Keep the same EC throughout the week. If you use Jack's I would have one container with nutrient feed at desired strength and one with just RO water. Then you add either nutrient feed and/or RO water to dial in EC.

Another solution is to make a 1/5th strength top of jug/container and just use that to top of throughout the week. I use this method on larger systems. In smaller containers you need to top of with full strength feed but this changes throughout the grow.

Just RO in early veg and more nutrient feed in late veg and throughout flower. Cheers!

That's the only thing I can think of. With the RO water your giving everything it needs with jacks expect your cal and mag might still be low and that could cause the yellow and brown you are seeing. Im pretty new to all this as well but from what I've read I would look into that.

That is technically impossible with both Calcium nitrate, Magnesium nitrate, and Magnesium sulfate in the mix. Jack's is old school mineral nutrients with high Mg and Ca.

Most people use Jacks3-2-1 with RO water in hydro. There's tons of people using the same formula without any issues. It's not the nutrients, it's probably operator error or something wrong with the system design and the materials being used. Cheers!

Then why do they make a nutrient specifically for RO water??

These three kits are not the same... And can all be used on cannabis depending what your starting water is

I'm not sure if all these guys have just been using jacks for a long time and they have not read up on it and seen all the new stuff they have but the original 123 mix is not ideal for RO water. Hence why they have different kids now!!

You clearly don't have a clue of what you're talking about. Do you actually grow Cannabis? They design and make more products to fill the market to make more profit. All people don't use Jack's for growing Cannabis. More products and shedules = bigger market share and profit.

Most people have no clear understanding about minerals and their ratios and how they affect pH. You're just shooting out in the dark. You seems to think RO water and hydro is a new thing when we have been using the same stuff for ages.

Yes I grow cannabis, and I do it in the same setup he does, would you like a picture or video???
Yes I know jacks has more than just cannabis nutrients. These kits I have link are for cannabis specifically. More specifically for what kind of water you're using because not all water is the same... So I'm not sure where your coming from with the holier than my attitude but the problem could very well be that he is missing a nutrient or has to much of one if he is using RO water and not compensating for it.
Do you grow cannabis?
Do you use the same system he does?
Are you familiar with highly oxygenated recirculating systems and their effect on nutrient uptake???

you adjust the mix based on your source water. where are you getting your bad info?
All my info is directly from Jack's website.
If you go to their website and pick the cannabis category there are multiple kits depending on what kind of water you're using.
