Javadog's Next Adventure

Old folks with new names. :0)

Mo, PLC has nothing in stock. They seem popular.

The thing is that the LEC315 numbers are near LED in efficiency,
and the light is about $500 delivered with hangers. So, I can light
a new tent almost to the edges with one LEC. $600 and a second
tent is rocking it.

I am thinking that I would take all air to drive through the ducted lamp
from the new tent, as the LEC is not ducted. i.e. close all ducts in the
existing tent except for one duct that connects the two. This will allow
me to vent to tents using one Whisperline.

Just thinking at this stage.

Hey JD if you go the tent route and get some height like 6 or 7ft. you'd be fine with no direct venting of the hood. My room's 7.5' H and have never used anything more than 4" inline's to bring in air and exhaust even running 2x LEC's in there. Temps only dropped by like 1 - 1.5F when I replaced one with 3590 COBs. I'm running 1x 315w LEC and 300w of 3590 Tasty LED's but still out on preference, hard to beat those LEC's for $500 and they can handle 3.5'x3.5' just fine at 22"-24" above the canopy.

I haven't pushed the COBs, only on the second run but I think they can cover off 4x4' based on what I've seen so far. They did a nice job in a 3'x4' first round. A lot of the coverage depends on the fixture config. I went with the 3x 100w fixtures so I can move/space them as needed depending on what footprint I'm flowering. Cheers.

I agree that veggie gardening can spread mites, and I didnt get mites till spring when my garden was back in the picture again.
I do spray the neem on my garden but not often enough.

I would hate to forego the garden on the future, but with the cureent state on my flowering tent it seems like it night be the way it ends up .

As far as LED lights I get my cobs from him (PLC Grengenes) , and thats how I built my led lights.
I run them lower current and hope that the increase in efficiency makes up for my lack of growing prowess

Thank you both. (Stoked to have you here GE)

I have yet to pull the trigger and need to make sure that the cave
is ready to accommodate the new tent. It will be great to be able
to work some larger plants in one and samplers in the other.

I got some Azamax today. It is really glorified neem oil, but it will help.

Hey, has anyone here used the oregoneliteseeds.com ?

I am not currently certified in any fashion....not sure if this matters.

Very pleased with The Dank Team (thank you for the tip bro!) so far.

I want to get some Doc and Worm beans. :0)

P.S. Was very sorry to see that the Cherry Pie was Out! :0)

Here's a funny one...

https://www.johnsongrowlights.com/products/johnson-grow-lights-cx-9

About as nice as LED gets.

Still rated to 4' square but it pulls 535 W

I cannot argue for paying twice as much as the LEC just because
it covers more like 3.5' square rather than 4, not when the LED uses
way more power.

It must blaze on that 4X4 though!

JD
See if specs are available to see number of cobs and driver current.
You can run the same number of cobs at higher current and get more watts output, but less efficient.
In that case its not more is better necessarily.

@GroErr what type light you veg with? Got to get a veg room/tent if I want to do this right. You say 22-24 on 3.5x3.5. So your light was the same I. The 3x4?

Thanks EM. I appreciate your taking the time.

I am going to get something from BigWorm and Doc.

I took down a Super Qrazy at 10 weeks tonight and it is going
to be tasty. :0)

Happy to be off, and hoping that this is a great weekend for you all.

JD
I still need something from Doc myself but good on Bigworm for a while. You will enjoy the freebies from OES too. I have some Qrazy elephant here among many others but my eye is on the purple voodoo and Shorelines Alien Shoreline for the next run..........

@GroErr what type light you veg with? Got to get a veg room/tent if I want to do this right. You say 22-24 on 3.5x3.5. So your light was the same I. The 3x4?
I veg with blurple LED's (Mars reflector panels), originally bought them for flowering but they sucked for flowering, but they work great for veg at 30-35w/sq. ft.

The 3.5'x3.5' coverage at 22-24" was referring to the 315w LEC from Sun Systems. The ideal tent for those would be a 1 metre x 1 metre, a lot of "3x3" tents are actually 1M x 1M.

The 3x4' coverage was referring to my Tasty LED COB bars. I have 3x 100w T2-1400. With the individual bars you can space them out to fit the area and they covered 3x4' well in a run I just finished.

I am just going to restart after blasting the tent.

Happily I am down to about 20....well, not keepers, but breeds
worth giving a better look.

The Tangilope might have made the best impression, but the Stacked Kush
did too and several others were strong.

I am going to need to reduce down to about those 20 plants, in 6" pots, as my
restart stock. If I can get those clean, then Life can move on. I expect to keep
about 12 from all of these when done.

I look forward to popping some new beans. I have had to hold the interesting
crosses of Bob's for months now....actually gets under my skin.....need to get
those going! LOL
