Just got my grow room and need some advice

hey guys thanks for reading this! i just bought a grow room off eBay that's 48x24x60 so 2feet by 4feet by 5 feet tall and i have some questions about what i need to buy next.

so im gonna buy i HPS light system for it but i was wondering what wattage i should get... i was leaning toward a 400W system...

also i have no idea how many CFMs i would need to evac the room. i did want to do am inline fan and i have hookups for 4 in, 6 in, and 8 in ducting... i was looking at 6 inch inline duct booster fan at 160 CFM, but it doesnt sound like its powerful enough.

any advice would be much appreciated

If you want odor control, with a 400w in a 2x4 closet, you're going to need something stronger than a duct booster. Inline centrifugal duct fans ($$$) have a lot more force than duct boosters. It doesn't take much force to render a duct booster ineffective, such as an improperly built DIY filter or restrictive intakes. I'd spend the extra $$$ on a proper vent fan if you want to push a 400w in that tent.

Questions:
1) are you going to be growing hydro or soil
2) where do you plan on keeping your Growtent?
*inside / outside / garage/ attic*
3) since your tent is semi small your going to need and air cooled 400w hps so it doesnt over heat
4) you need a PH meter
5) you need a cheap pivoting fan to blow air on your girls so their branches get nice and strong to support those big nugs that are going to grow

What Xcon said the Duct boosters are practicly usless in a room of your size.
me personaly i use 200cfm inline fans for a 3x4x6 room

my plants are in soil now (veg) but after this crop i was gonna transfer to a bubbleponics system

my grow tent is gonna be in my room i have a small space heater that i can manually adjust

i do have ph meter

and i do have a crappy non oscillating fan but im gonna buy one soonish

Do you have an EC meter? They're essential for hydro. I grow in soil... EC meters are useful for soil, but for hydro it's necessary. I recommend the Hanna EC/TDS/PH combo meter, stored properly you might have to calibrate PH once per month.

If you have problems (and I hope you don't) the first response will be "what are your ppms?"

No problem bro, having the right equipment goes a long way. I wasted a lot of money on crap I didn't need, still do...LOL

i would only buy one if you have the money since a tds meter is around 100$ . with that 100 bucks you could just go by an R/o filter and solve any worries about hard water or what not. I did my 1st dwc grow last year and never needed one = harvest came out perfect
