Welcome to my 2020 grow.

Location: Sweet Home, Oregon.

Containers: 65-gallon white fabric pots.

Medium: slightly modified "Coots mix" soil.

Water source is creek water. I will test the ec and ph soon, but I suspect that it's high in ph and very high in ec as the water is completely brown during a heavy rain.

I estimate the plants will get around 10 hours of direct sunlight at summer solstice.

Total cost for this grow:
+$400.73 for soil/amendments
+$359.69 for nuts/supplements/IPM
+$133.76 for trellis/cages
+$108.00 for clones
+$87.95 for air pump
+$61.86 for fabric pots
+$59.50 for ec pen
+$58.64 for inoculants
+$49.75 for ph pen
+$17.99 for living mulch
+$8.00 for wooden pallets
=$1345.87

Soil was mixed and put into fabric pots on May 10th.

This recipe was designed for 36 cf (or 272 gallons) of soil

----Soil base----

Peat moss/coco coir (33% / 12 cf / 89.8 gallons) (3 cf per plant) ($33.99)

Locally harvested humus (33% / 12 cf / 89.8 gallons) (3 cf per plant) ($0)

Perlite/black lava rock (33% / 12 cf / 89.8 gallons) (3 cf per plant) ($120.77)

I harvested my own humus so it was free.

I prefer red lava rock (and/or grostones) for water/air retention, but I could only find perlite and black lava rock around me. So I picked up 2 cf of black lava rock (so that i could line the very bottom of each fabric pot with 1/2 cf), and the rest perlite (10 cf mixed into the soil).

----Soil amendments----

1/2 cup ahimsa neem cake per cf (18 cups / 9 pounds) (4.5 cups per plant) (6-1-2-1-1-1) ($49.00)

1/2 cup kelp meal per cf (18 cups / 9 pounds) (4.5 cups per plant) (1-0-2-1-1-1) ($99)

1/2 cup crab meal per cf (18 cups / 9 pounds) (4.5 cups per plant) (4-3-0-14-1-0) ($31.99)

2 1/2 cups basalt (or granite, glacial, azomite) per cf (90 cups / 50 pounds) (22.5 cups per plant) (0-1-3-6-3-0) ($30)

1 cup gypsum per cf (neutral ph) (36 cups / 18 pounds) (9 cups per plant) (0-0-0-23-0-18] ($19.99)

1/2 cup oyster shell flour per cf (18 cups / 9 pounds) (4.5 cups per plant) (normally 1 cup per cf but I decided to only add 1/2 cups because of hard water) (0-0-0-35-0-0) ($15.99)

I was worried about my creek water being too hard, so I lowered the amount of oyster shell flour in this recipe from 1 cup to 1/2 cup per cf.

I was going to go 50/50 basalt/glacial rock dust (2 cups basalt, 2 cups glacial), but I couldn't get glacial rock dust in time for mixing my soil, so I just used what I had which was a 50 pound bag of basalt rock dust. Again, my water source is creek water, which is loaded with minerals. So I don't think 2 1/2 cups of rock dust rather than 4, will make much of a difference, since there is literally rock dust in my water.

Just picked up the clones today, May 15th. Applied mycorhizal fungi to the roots, transplanted clones into the fabric pots, stuck in some tomato cages, and watered them in with Aloe Vera (1/4 cup per gallon).

This morning they were all praying. I'm pretty sure they are darker green today too.

It's supposed to rain everyday for a week here, I'll try to take more pics after the rainy weather is over.

After a week of rain they were very droopy. The Dosidoz has a couple purple leaves, probably from being so cold (mid 50s in the daytime, low 40s at night). Fortunately we got some good warm sun yesterday. Hopefully that's the end of the cold and rainy weather.

Today they look way better, still a little droopy, but they should be fine.

Gave them another dose of aloe vera today, but only enough to wet the top inch or 2 of soil, and a little more at the base to make sure the roots got some. Also gave them a neem oil foliar spray.

Yesterday, I gave each container about 4 gallons of nutrient tea. For every 5 gallons of water I added 1/4 cup kelp, 1/2 cup alfalfa, 2 and 1/2 teaspoons silica powder, 5 teaspoons molasses. I brewed this for 24 hours in a 50 gallon barrel.

This morning they got a foliar feed of protekt and ful-power.

I happened to have some extra straw leftover from other garden projects, which I personally prefer over clovers for mulching cannabis plants, so today I mulched the containers with straw. If I had I known sooner that I would have straw, I wouldn't have thrown clover seeds in there.

Been really busy this month. Had a few problems but nothing too bad. Slugs did the most damage. A few spots a powdery mildew happening here and there. I've only given them 2 feedings since my last post. One was a kelp and alfalfa brew, the second was a fish hydrolysate brew. Last few days have been pretty hot, almost 90 degrees. Also I haven't been foliar spraying them, but I plan to give them at least 2 good neem sprays before they start stretching too much.

I planned on paying more attention to these plants but I had too much going on and the weather has been less than ideal.

Today I gave them a tea of kelp, alfalfa, and fish bone meal, brewed for about 60 hours. Probably the last time I'll be giving them alfalfa for the season.
