My wife is a hell of a baker.
She spends as much time baking as I do growing.
Her old gE plastic stand up mixer couldn't hang an died.
So I figured I'd get her a new kitchen aid mixer.

Anyone here know if they are worth the money over say a quisianrt?

Would the cheepo kitchen aid & 4 quart bowl be a good choice for home baking?

Can it Handel bread dough?

Or should I get a better model?

Is the pink colord one the best as she tells me?
Lol

thanks y'all.

Yes Kitchen aids are a great choice , They are industerial grade mixers and usually will outlast the owners when taken care off . They also have a ton of atachments that eazly atach to the machine makes them very versital

If you look into any commerical kitcken you are likely to see kitchen aid mixers -- I think that statment speaks for its self

The mixers will handle just about anything you can throw in their , just go check one out the machine is solid the bowl locks in securely , Bread dough will be no problem

The machine also makes a fine "bubble'' agigation device

Alternatively, there is also the 'classic' model, that's not as heavy duty/ not quite as powerful, but will still take pasta attachments/others on the front, and is more than powerful enough for 99% of home bakers.

But if you can swing the extra money, I'd go with the artisan model like sunni suggested! They're pimp sauce.

I got one for my daughter last year with most of the attachments, she loves it. Go to eBay and shop around, I saved about $200 and had a little fun bidding. :)

Buy it!!!!! I've had my Kitchenaid mixer for 24 years -- when it got it as a wedding present. It still looks and works perfectly. It has outlasted the marriage by more than a decade -- ha!

I also had a fancy Cuisinart (one of the old school types), and I found I didn't use it as much as the Kitchenaid. It wasn't as pretty, so I had it up in the cupboard, not on the counter, and all those accessories were difficult to store.

If she wants the pink one, get it! That's adorable.

Sunni -- I LOVE that light green color. When my dark green mixer dies in 20 years or so, I will certainly upgrade to the light green one.
