I bought a klimaire 24000btu 240 unit for my grow room.
Had a buddy who works on electric come out to wire it and it only has 1 input slot for live and 1 for neutral.
he paused and said he is going to have to study what’s going on before he finishes, because 240 needs 2 lives.
Has anyone installed this unit and understand why it is like that and what needs done to wire it.

If you look at the wiring diagram on the unit as well as the instruction manual cuz I googled it clearly shows L1 and L2 for power hook up.

Some condensers are 120v. read the specs for the unit and wire appropriately
you feed the condenser power on most units and then run wires from the condenser to the heads to power them typically. The install manual should have all u need

I installed a 36k unit of theirs to 240 no problem, shoot a picture of the connection points and I can tell you what goes where.

Next time I’d order mr cool if going with a cheaper unit, I have 2 mr cool and one klimaire and the mr cool units seem better to me.

Read your installation manual carefully before installing! All your answers should be in there.

Like some said already some are 120v some are 240v. Typically your 240 will have L1, L2 and ground. Thats your power from circuit breaker. Then a seperate approved cable runs from condenser to head. On Mitsubishi its S1, S2, S3 just make sure you use same colors inside and out.

Another tip is to crimp a U shaped connector on the end of the wires to slide in between the terminal plates. The gauge of wire on most AC whips makes it a real pain getting them seated in between the terminals, and you can damage the terminals if not careful.
