Leaves are discolored

Wondering if you know what happened to this plant? It seems quite healthy now I think. But the oldest fan leaves have gotten mottled. These plants are all about 5 weeks old. They’re still in veg but I’m flipping ‘em tomorrow. They’re in 8 gal fabric pots in Miracle Grow potting soil and just getting tap water adjusted to 6.0. One of the other 3 plants also did it, but not as bad. I’m guessing it might be that the soil was too hot for the seedlings but it’s fine now. What do you think?

I would check run off ph and see what the plant is actually telling you, rule out ph issues. Plant looks ok everywhere else. Did you ever malnourish the plant? Might be dieing leafs from a past issue.

Thanks... no, they never got pale on this run. Seems like that soil has held them pretty well, so I'm wondering if maybe it was on the hot side for seedlings. I agree, they seem healthy now. I never get much runoff... they seem to soak up what I give them, especially with the fabric pots

You gotta water and get some run off. Your ph in the pot is probably out of wack if your not watering and getting some run off.

Take a cup, fill it ¼ with your soil out your pot, then fill cup to half way with 7.0 water (¼ water). Mix well, then wix well again lol. Stick in your ph meter. What's your soil ph?

not enough runoff?
Living soil doesn't need lots of run off, but like every 3rd or 4th feed I like to see about ⅕-¼ of what goes in come back out. I do hydro these days so don't listen to me lol. But I would do a slurry test and make sure my soil ph was good, u can check ppm that way 2
