Lemon Kush- early pick

So we harvested one of our Lemon Kush girls mainly because we were tired of buying low-grade smoke.
She was about 2 weeks from "peak-potency" but she lacked trichome production on the bud from the start and all throughout flowering. I 'm guessing it's just crappy genetics. Where's the RESIN>?
Very leafy, only slightly frosted nugs that have your typical Hindu Kush smell. Pretty nice, but no lemon scent at all.

Strain : FMS Lemon Kush
Smell: 6 Typical old-school Kush
Taste: 6 Deep, sweet pastry, satisfying (but no lemon in any of the phenos)
Buzz: 6 Nice Indica couchlock. Almost makes you feel "drunk and baked" after a bowl. Decent potency - My GF full-on Tripped (visual hallucinations ) & would give it a 10 - if grown to peak potency. Creeper weed all the way. Once it hits, my body is calmy sedated. Not really good if you need to get things done. Great for bed time or chill atmosphere
Overall Rating 6 : I was disappointed with the trichome production on these buds during flowering. These seeds were Very cheap and I guess "you get what you pay for:" In comparison, my Western Winds (kali mist) are Frosty like they got hit by a blizzard ! Anyway, I'm not overly impressed with this Lemon Kush and although it's half-way decent, there are many better strains out there. The manicuring was a pain in the ass. Shitty calyx to leaf ratio -

Random bud from the Lemon Kush. A little frosty, but not all that much. Still, it's FAR better than the shit we get here on the street. We're happy to finally have some decent meds this season

I'm not certain how you critique a plant that's two weeks from finishing.

That's like pulling the Thanksgiving turkey at 6 hours when it needed to go 8, then saying, " I'm not overly impressed with this [turkey] and although it's half-way decent, there are many better [turkeys] out there." To me, anyway.

I understand your argument Otis, however the Lemon Kush lacked trichomes from the beginning, while my other plants of a different strain packed on the Frost. I'm judging from experience, and let me tell you bro; This strain- (all 3 phenos) just lacked resin production in general. I'm basing this on my growing experience of over 20 yrs. 2 more weeks would not help the fact that these specimens are just not high-resin producers (genetically). Very low calyx to leaf ratio on all 3 phenos. No Lemon smell or taste. She smokes decently though,so we're not complaining

Understood. Btw - I'd call it coversation...not arguing w/ you, amigo.

Trichomes are not always a good indicator of how potent buds will be. I've smoked lots of bud that wasn't covered in trics but was still top shelf.

That's true indeed. We've been spoiled by our last harvest of super skunk (sensi) which has a fantastic calyx to leaf ratio. I may have been a little harsh in my review of this Lemon Kush. For the price, I'd say it's still a good deal. What other strain costs 13$ /4 pack fem seeds, right? All in all, we're happy with it

I grew it in the spring and was disappointed.although mine was very frosty and smelled like Lemon Joy dish soap,it just wasn't that potent.and was a bitch to trim.I won't grow it again but their C99 is very close to the original and is worth giving a go.

Thanks blues ! Been thinking of giving their C99 a run. So many seed banks, Sooo many choices , pretty tight budget. I'm always placing orders then changing my mind about 'em because I read a bad report on the strain. Going seed shopping in the next few weeks with Herbies

haha u sound like me..i did same thing for a long time..but i have found that some ppl just cant grow and u gotta take their reporting with a grain of salt..case in point i was told the berry bomb 1 yr ago on another fourm was shit and didnt yeild that well but i already had the seed so i said fk it and grew it..one the best strains i have ever grew and i been growing it ever year since..yeilded me 13.5 oz 1st year and not sure what i will get this year but its 11ft 4inche tall and looking at the bud sites i will say its gonna be more then last year..i take advice from someone i see with a journal that has grew something out that knows wtf they are doing now

True, over the yrs. I've gathered some useful info. on which companies to stay away from & which make good products. Nothing pisses me off more than finally popping my seeds to find out the are not viable (old). Another thing I try to avoid like the black-plague are fem seeds which produce hermaphrodites. I know that when I buy from mandala or sensi seeds, (for example) I won't have either problem. Also heard nothing but good things from Ace and Cannabiogen. Will give them a try next run. Just completed my next order to Herbies: Mandala - Satori, Paradise- Durga Mata II , Delicious seeds- Cotton Candy & Critical Kali and Pyramind- Auto Anesthesia. Our space is very limited so these beans will keep us busy for a while. Peace, and happy growing !

evr since i have found fem seeds 3 yrs ago thats all i use..never had a hermie or male..its a god send for a guerilla grower like me..i love the fem seeds but growing outdoors and inside is 2 differnt worlds prolly why i never seen a hermie..mother nature takes cure of it for me..i hated haveing to plant 30 or 40 seeds just to end up with 10 or 15 males..all that water lugging to the hills for nothing..fkn hated that and i will never go back to reg seeds again..

u got 2 of my fav seed banks on there..paradise and delicious..u will be very happy with those for sure..u gonna do a journal on them? i had a cotton candy last year but i dropped the fkn seed out in the shed and i couldnt find it no fkn where..sucks i wanted to grow that this year bad lol i put a fruity chronic juice in its spot..the FCJ has the most amazeing smell ever..cant wait to chop that whore down

Yet it's true. My gf has a low tolerance, hence her experience. If you knew anything about cannabis you would know that in higher doses, it is indeed possible to "trip" on our beloved ganja. I'm guessing you're one of those bitches who likes to complain about other peoples' pot... Educate yourself, and take another look at that bud. It is actually early-picked but covered in trichomes. You sound like an ignorant wanna-be-bud-bully . From what I've seen around here, you're in a class all by yourself. Have fun ~

Thanks bro, I may do a journal on the next grow. I plan on making some Satori f2 seeds since she sounds like just what we need from our sativa. Can't wait for this years' grow to get done so we can get it dried/cured and a smoke report to follow. Great to hear of a successful guerilla grow bro! I think ya mentioned an 11 -footer ? - HOLY SHIT.. now that is massive. Can't wait to see those pics man

the white bud strain is my delahaze its got a ways to go but i just love that plant..the purple is the pogk-purple og kush(seeds from a nor cal friend of mine) and the 11 foot is the berry bomb with the 2 thick tops ..i love bomb seeds bro..if u havent grew any bomb strains make sure u try the berry bomb..ever strain i have grew from bomb has been great shit..i keep the berry bomb in my grow ever year and always try a new one with the berry bomb..this year i have the cherry bomb and its no differnt as far as growing..vigorus,big yeild and smells great..will have the smoke report soon as i chop her...
