LET'S HEAR FROM THOSE "LEGAL" States!

What's it like? What's going on? When does the party get kicked into high gear? So, when they say "Legal", just what kinds of controls are still in place? Tell us all about it!

I'm not asking about getting into the "Business" side. I'm just asking about the smoking and personal growing aspects of legality. There isn't that much public information - so let's hear it people - come on!

The way I see it, when enough states go legal, it will become a "States' Rights Issue" and the Feds will have to throw up their hands and say "We quit!". What does anyone think about this?

We had a nice party recently. Lots of people brought their weed and we all smoked it. It was a great time.

It was totally casual, but it was at a private home, invitation only.

Growing is also casual, with lots of people openly talking about their grows- and their problems. Nothing new there!

My best guess is another couple of two year election cycles and either there will be a backlash or it will go legal nationwide and then worldwide.

Pick your horses and plunk down your money; it's going to be a wild ride, just like the dot com boom.

OK, so you're in Colorado, right? Just a few specific questions:
1. Is everything "in play" already, or is there still some kind of waiting period?
2. Can you just walk into your local "Kwik-E-Mart" and buy a pack of "Kush 100's" or what? Or do the medical dispensaries act as "authorized state outlets". How does that work?
3. Do bars sell joints, the way they sell drinks?
4. How much is legal weed going for, and does the price seem to be going down, any?
5. Are there any restrictions on "public smoking" (smoking in public)? What about D.W.S. (driving while stoned)?
6. What sized grow is the normal, average Joe, citizen allowed to have? And are there any other rules or hoops you have to jump through in order to grow your own?

Thanks for your responce and thanks in advance for answering my "Questionair" - INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!

1 depends on where you live
2 No, only licensed outlets, license is 1/4 mil a year
3 No
4 avg bout $280 an oz and yes it has come down a tad
5 Yes, it is not allowed at all, 5 ng limit for DWS
6 Every adult 21 or over can legally grow 6 plants. plant counts in a single home based on # of adults in house except in Denver where it is limited to 12 plants per household. Also growing outside in Denver requires a locked greenhouse. Each city makes there own rules within the rules of the amendment. Several cities bailed and don't allow any retail but home grows are protected by the amendment

Hope that helps

I enjoy the local cannabis clubs. I pay $20 a yr and 10 at the door when I visit. All the dabs and weed you can smoke. Random people come up and hand you buds. Its great networking and talking to growers. When the establishment is labeled "private" , members only, you can pretty much do what you want behind those doors

How does one go about finding a few and getting an invitation?

Okay! Thanks for all the details RM3!

Back to those "authorized outlets". Anyone who lives there can feel free to answer:
1. Did the medical dispensaries just roll-over and become "authorized outlets" or is it a whole new set of businesses?
2. Are they some kind of "Cannabis Only Store", or do they sell "Smoke Related Accesaries" as well? How about other, non-related products like alcohol, Tee-Shirts, or whatever - or is it pretty much a "Smoke Shop" environment?
3. Do they have a large variety of strains to choose from? How about Hash, Hash oil and Edibles. etc.?

Okay, let's hear from some of you other states. Are things any different in your area?

For me it's like before only without the added pressures of the law… fuck a guy got busted with 2700 plants for his medical coop and 90 lbs and faces 6months… that's fucking AWESOME!!

I still get nervous around harvest time but not cause of the law but neighbors. Since pot recreational went legal I NEVER smoke in my car, not even parked before a concert and I always drive with it in my trunk… legalization brought about a way to make tons off DUI's which I've been pulled over and busted with weed and didn't even get a question about whether I had been smoking it or not, so that blows I know of one pot DUI victim so far… fuck that!!

it's nice in legal states. you know they don't really care about some guy with a medical card growing in their house. the key is to be nice to your neighbors! and here in colorado, they have weed DUI laws like @Grojak said. gotta be careful about those!

@Dannoo93 support your local grower donate direct :) unless you're someone who likes to buy 6 1/8th of different herb it makes sense to get direct from a grower.

Still have to wait until July here in Oreygon. Wink.
Yeah, wink wink. The DA in Portland recently said they will not prosecute marijuana violations.
Vancouver, Wa. sells pot for $25 or more a gram. That's getting up to near $1000 an oz.! I refuse to even consider it. And there are reports that a 2 gram bag(?) actually weighs in around 1.7 grams. The black market is thriving.
Here in Portland, I have found extension cords and socket adapters in short supply. CFLs are prominently displayed in Lowes and WalMart.

im in a legal state. I have 5 patients plus myself I grow for. each person i care for is allotted 12 plants and 2.5oz (usable) by the state.
So does that mean you can only have 2.5 ounces of dry/cured bud in your house at a time?
