Lots of us are kinda ignorant.

I went to a high school in WA and we were known as the Juanita Rebels. I had no idea how offensive the Rebel Flag was at the time, and never really thought about it. But later realized how crazy it was that a high school had that as a theme. They changed their logo long ago so I think there has been progress, but overall it's been slow I think. Like I'm saying there's a lot of uneducated people out here. I'm one, but am trying to learn.

Here's one of my yearbooks with the flag. Please don't say I'm racist just because I went to this school. I just think it's kinda crazy a school ever had this as it's theme. I don't think anyone was meaning it that way, but it's still crazy.

The South are a defeated people i spose so there will always be some resentment. People died under the confederate flag.
Ya, this was in Northern WA though. About an hour from the Canadian border. It wasn't Southern at all there. I think they just thought it was a cool name. I don't know. The black guys that went to my school probably didn't think it was such a cool name though. I just never thought of it like that when I was going to school there is what I'm saying. It wasn't until after I got out high school I realized how messed up that was. Just saying a lot of us don't realize there's still racism going on.

Hmm I black but my opinion is no better than anyone else's because it's my opinion...if you can burn an American flag and not have a problem with that than you can fly whatever flag you want but that's just my opinion

... The adults in your community knew better and anybody who says they didn't are full of shit.
This 100%. I'm a white guy from Oklahoma. I get to see racism from the inside. I get to hear the racist thoughts from the mouths of white trash who think I must feel the same as them since I'm white. Like we're on the same team or some shit. But, in public they pay lip service to ideals. They know to hide their true thoughts. They support systemic racism. They don't want to change the phrases and symbols that uphold these worthless ideas. They vote for people (Republican trash) that will keep the status quo, even though they themselves won't benefit from it.
I get to see white people hate everyone. I get to see Hispanics hating people. I get to see Asians hating people. I get to see black people hating Mexicans. (So weird...) I even got to see an Indian man who had recently naturalized hating on some Chinese immigrants. (This one was eye opening. He saw himself as "American" and the Chinese immigrants as not. And he felt that made him better. But, I knew that around 96% of the racist, white trash, rednecks here see him as an immigrant and not American.)
America is racist from coast to coast. I've seen it everywhere, from all types, classes, and races of us.
The problem is internal. It isn't even cultural. Racism exists all over the world. We are broken inside. So the problems arise from within and flow out. New idiots born everyday.

You’re not a racist just because you went to that school
