Pick up at high times magazine. There is an add in the center of everyone for an excellent mushroom growing kit. It comes with everything you need for a great first harvest, including excellent instructions and growing information. You won't need to source spores or anything seperately. I've grown this kit twice over the years and it worked great.

Once you understand the process you can easily expand into DIY methods. You can save spores from your kit grow and use them for your DIY grow as well. I highly recommend this kit as a beginner step into mycology.

Actually here is a link to the companies website. The mushroom grow kit is only like $70 http://www.angelfire.com/biz/HomesteadBook/

Apparently it's not illegal to sell even magic mushroom spores, and several sites will sell you syringes with enough inoculate to make a couple or more spawn bags. Once you grow them, unless you are in one of a a very places where it has been decriminalized, you have a bigger felony than weed on your hands.

The syringes seem to run about $25 a strain, but if you buy 3 or 5 you get a discount. Then you have the cost of spawn bags and a grow box. All in a first batch should cost you about $100, less if you mcguyver it and are willing to risk infected batches, but some of that can be used again.

The whole process can be found on youtube. It figures, they banned cannabis channels for a while but are still allowing magic growing channels unfettered.

I'm actually going to try growing, but only non-psychoactive strains. For now.. lol.

can you really buy majic mushroom kits?I just saw something online bout that
You should check out @Thundercat 's journal.

Are these photos of your take from one grow kit
?!?
No I order my spores in a syringe then I do a wild bird seed monotub tub, basicly you inoculate your soaked cleaned n pressure cooked grain from the bird seed with the syringe then spawn it to a brick of coco coir in a 64 quart tub, once that's all colonized you just initiate fruiting...also do grain tok grain transfers to basicly keep your mycelium going forever. Had to throw that weed pic in prettiest colors I ever had a plant put out
