I use coated electric wire, the 2 wire contractors coils, then split it with a razor. You get the black and white wires, i like how they're soft, rounded, and just crazy strong...holds up well...just got used to it.

I used that this year on some tomato plants. I was considering this as a solution but I'm not sure it'll be as sturdy in the dirt as a thicker gauge electrical wire. I'll test that out first though. Most of the wire I have hanging around is smaller gauge guitar electronics wire. Too light for this purpose. Also gets expensive.

I did it that way (with bamboo) on my last grow indoors. it worked but I wanted to try something direct into the dirt. Found the bamboo shoots a bit unwieldy in my tight grow space. I believe I saw a few posts from another members here (@bk78 ??) that uses this wire approach, but I may be wrong on the member name.
