lucas question

I would like to try this. Please clarify if the NPK numbers are better for 5 grams or 6 of the 50/50 mix? You said both in this thread.
both options are the same

it just depends on how strong you want your feed

are you growing in soil... for soil id probably guess the 3 grams each is ideal... if your in dwc or dtw id go with the weaker mix
you can cut the mix to whatever EC your target is

the mix will be balanced at any EC

Thanks! I'm in 3:1 perlite/vemiculte hempy buckets.

I just mixed up my first batch of 4.5 grams of Maxi grow and with my tap water it was 742ppm which should be plenty.

that's about right for a full strength veg solution used on an established plant in your medium

if using the grow only, id also add 1/4 tsp or 1 gram per gallon Epsom salt (next time)

you probably wont need to add Epsom when using the bloom or 50/50 mix because the bloom has a higher % of magnesium

so only add the Epsom if your mixing the "grow" by itself

Awesome, thank you so much. I will add the epson when feeding grow only. You might be interested in my story.

Before, I was using a semi teaspoon thing to measure my maxibloom which got me in trouble and gave me 3 years of underfed sickly plants. I bought a $10 gram scale last week and will measure in grams from now on. I was having real issues as you can imagine underfeeding Maxibloom by a considerable amount.

After yet another dismal chop, I decided to go back and look at everything in my grow. I went up in pot size for all plants, I bought more medium, I thought maybe my tap had changed so I bought a new TDS meter to double check. I bought PH test strips thinking it was my PH drops were somehow inaccurate. I thought about changing lights and made some upgrades. I was worried about my perlite/vermicalie being old or contaminated and spent days reading about Coco in case I would need to change. I spent days reading about new nutes and even ordered some Mega Grow. I checked everything and it was fine, until I got to food.

I always wondered why I wasn't getting much bud from 4 months worth of work but was still happy to get some bud at all. I just figured I would be happy with what I got and tossing a lot of yellow leaves. It wasn't until I went back and re-read the Hempy K.I.S.S thread more carefully that I found what I thought "could" be my problem and that time sent me on a hunt to find out more.

"They" say in the K.I.S.S instructions to use 7grams per gallon of Maxibloom from rooted clone to chop which it too much as we now know. Most experienced growers in that KISS thread have cut back to 5g per gallon of MB only and remain less than 750ppm which is near to your numbers as well. You are correct according to them that <7 grams is better and 5g is about as good as it gets for MB only.

The discrepancy in 2 grams per gallon in that thread is what made me search for more info on Maxibloom and that's when I found your NPK thread for Maxi products.

I realized from your thread that in order to be accurate on feeding that I must get a gram scale and feeding a veg and bloom schedule would be better and still a low level of effort. The gram scale and your feeding schedule I believe will be my answer now.

The problem I've had all along is that I've learned everything from reading online. There is a lot of well meaning misinformation out there and sometimes my interpretation of even the correct information has lead to my own incorrect assumptions. HA!

It's easy to grow this stuff once it's dialed in but getting it dialed in takes some trial, and mostly error.

I just watered in 6 rooted clones in 3 gallon pots with the 4.5g Maxigrow and 1 gram of Epson salt. I hope to see an explosion within a few days and will report back my impressions.

Thanks again.

Sorry to revive old thread, can't seem to find an answer.
I have used the Lucas formula the past few grows using maxibloom at 7gs pretty much the entire run... Slightly adjusting here n there.
Anyway I ran out last run and picked up a new bag. The last bag would mix up hot pink, the new bag is a very faint color.

Anyway I am having what I'm assuming is N issues during veg from the beginning.

I also have flora grow and flora micro on hand as I used the 3 part line before switching to Lucas formula. I am out of flora bloom.
Was wondering if this is a good idea to help the N issue.

3ml flora gro, 2ml flora micro, and 2.5g maxibloom.

im in coco

thanks

i'd use maybe 5 g of Maxi and maybe 1 or 2 mL of micro.

Thanks. I actually think I figured out my issue.

I'm a soil grower but recently been doing coco in the cooler months as it is easier(fellow Coloradan). Any, I made a rookie mistake..I have been reusing my coco my last run I did a 14 day flush with only water no calmag. I did a very light nutrient soak before transplanting recently.

I believe my issues are mag related. My buddy said just be patient an they will recover.

yeah, looks like Mg to me too. a few foliar sprays with epsom salt will fix that quick

Thanks a bunch!

Ended up feeding maxibloom at 3gs/gal, flora micro at 5ml/gal, and flora grow at 2ml/gal. Increased calmag to 4 ml/gal.

Foliar sprayed at 4gs of Mg Sulfate/gal. Information for foliar spraying was all over the place. They are recovering rapidly. Also ran the lights at 5% until this morning, just put em up to 20%( 2 x 150w led I use for veg)

How often can/should I foliar spray? The plan is to keep the foliar feed up until the plant stabalises and my coco is charged

Pheno hunt rub of strawberry 2.1(ogkb 2.1 x strawberry guava) from bloom seeds. Running the freebies called "wash water" they don't share lineage of there freebies tho.
