Hey everyone, im thinking of going led for my 1.2x 2.4 grow space. i currently use 2 hellions and am thinking of swapping them out for these lumatek leds

would a 465w led compete with a 750w dehps?

480 = 30w sq ft.
600 = 37.5w sq ft.
In a 4x4 space.
OP wants to run 2 in a 4x8 space.
The op said 465w compete with de 750w

465w = 29w psf
750w = 47w psf in 4x4 area.

Eta... I'm assuming the op has a 750w de idk what a helion is, maybe I've missed something?

Why are you comparing LED wattage to HID? Of course there's gonna be a huge discrepancy there, but it's meaningless.
Still, between the lights he listed and a 600w LED it's 7-8w difference.
I stand by first answer.

id go with the 600w zeus per 4x4, just because its a larger light with more bars so it will give more even coverage.
you can always turn the 600w down but you cant turn the 465w up...

You're still wrong.

Your math doesn't matter, you're comparing HID wattage to LED and talking about 60% less power. Who tf does that?

The lights he's looking at will be fine. Which is what was asked.

Thanks everyone, Yeah i use my current hid lights on 750w and they put out PPF 1550umols here is the data specs for it

Here is the lumatek data specs for the 465

ZEUS 465W PRO 2.9
Lumatek Zeus 465W Pro 2.9 LED producing a PPF of 1353 µmol/s and a very high efficacy of up to 2.9 µmol/J

i was leaning towards the 465 because it fits better in my tent and has better coverage imo then say the hlg blackbird, and ive herd the blackbird gets very hot in comparison the led bar fixtures.

So i was trying to figure out if thats a big difference from 1550umols in the hid to 1350 in the led

Idk 60% less power is a big drop I'd want 600w of led, there's lots of bargain lights available.
Yeah im in aus so there is less lights available in stores and i want to go with a quality brand name for the warranty and results. I was just comparing the status of the led to the hid light and was wondering what others thought

No actually what he asked was...
"would a 465w led compete with a 750w dehps?"

He said
"i currently use 2 hellions and am thinking of swapping them out for these lumatek leds"

Don't reply I'm not interested.

what climate do you live in? if your average annual climate is dry and warm, go to 465. If you grow with lower temperatures and a humid climate, go to 600.
so you should be able to optimize the electricity consumed for extractors, heaters and dehumidifiers.
use cal / mag .... enjoy your led
(I would go with the 600 in all my life in 4x4 I have a test here somewhere on the forum with cuttings under a cob cxb .... 500watt / 600/800 the 600 is the right compromise and as they have already said you can always mitigate it but if the situation requires it go :)
go to lumatek 600 pro 2.9 i am going to buy the 1000 for a 5x5 you will not regret it i used their ballasts for years once one broke i went to the store changed in 5 minutes and came home without worries
