Lunari's indoor-noob grow

If I remember correctly my tap water is about 300 ppm. I mix the nutrients, and then pH. The PPM is reading is taken after achieving the desired pH. The ph adjuster does add to the ppm so I do just enough to get into the hydroponic pH range of 5.5 - 6.5. My water and nutrients put me at a higher pH so I only ever use pH down. My PPMs came out a little lower last time at 1100-1200 but my meter isn't the best (cheap Vivosun combo).

As far as the amounts, I do 2/1/2 start to finish except in flower I added 1/4 dose of flower fuel (pk boost) to each batch. I really like what I got from that grow, but to simplify things this time around I'm going without it. If I need to I will go a little stronger on the Masterblend but considering the monster tomato and pepper plants people grow with 2/1/2 I think it will be okay.

For coco/perlite I have been getting Mother Earth 70% coco/30% perlite in 50 liter bags from Amazon and just use it straight out of the bag.

One of my biggest issues was germination. I wasted like 8 bag seeds I had collected and only one sprouted because I used rockwool that I didn't properly treat to try to germinate. Once I switched to condiment cups with a little wet paper towel in the bottom put on top of my router I have had 100% germination with any kind of seeds I've tried (usually in a few days but the Skywalker OG took about a week). Just add a few drops of water if it starts to dry out.

Another tip, if you get a pH meter that has packets you mix with distilled water for calibration. You can mix them in jars and save them to calibrate before each use. Mine came with three different ones but I only ever calibrate to 6.86.

On to the pictures :) Lots of growth since Monday.

The LSD Auto was showing signs of a deficiency so I upped her to full strength Masterblend which is 2.4g/1.2g/2.4g per gallon. She looks much happier now. I topped the Skywalker OG at the 5th node the other day. Next week I'm going to start another autoflower to go in the tent. It will probably be a Wedding Cake Auto from Barney's Farm. Hopefully it is as tasty as the Wedding strains I've had from the dispensary.

In the photoperiod tent the Mimosa x Orange Punch is happy and will be flipping to flower sooner than later.

I'm germinating a Barney's Farm Wedding Cake Auto to join the fun. She got started today and will go ontop of the router in a condiment cup with a wet paper towel until she pops.

Having 3 one-gallon jugs and filling, mixing, and pHing them separately was a pain so I got myself a 5 gallon bucket. I should have done this long ago. Fertigating is so much easier now. The only part still slowing me down is removing runoff with a turkey baster but I have a small shop vac around here somewhere I will probably start to use.

Anyways, the Wedding Cake Auto has not popped yet but I'm sure she will any day now. I should have flipped the Mimosa a week ago and she was getting unruly with nowhere left to tuck so I aggressively topped everything down to scrog level and after a few days of recovery I am going to remove all but one top per square and flip her to flower. Onto the pictures!

Tiny update, my Barney's Wedding Cake Auto has finally germinated. I'll be transplanting her into coco tomorrow or tonight.

Here's the whole garden at this point in time. I flipped the Mimosa to flower the day before yesterday. :) I'm going to start inserting photos as thumbnails to try to improve load times.

The plants are all doing well. I'm going to have to stop at three plants in the autoflower tent because the Skywalker OG is getting bigger than I expected. Everything except for the seedling is getting full strength Masterblend pHed down to low-mid 6.4s. The seedling is getting the weaker mix I was previously using.

IMG_20220109_102659696_HDR.jpg Barney's Farm LSD Auto is getting closer to harvest. She had a little deficiency going into flower but she recovered well once I got my nutrients dialed in.
IMG_20220109_102708076.jpg Barney's Farm Skywalker OG has decided she wants half the tent for herself lol.

IMG_20220109_103055244.jpg Barney's Farm Mimosa x Orange Punch has taken a bit of work. If you're new to the thread, I waited too long to flip to flower and ran out of places to tuck so I did some aggressive topping down to net level and once she recovered I flipped her to flower. Since the last posting I have done some lower defoliation and went in and removed all extra tops leaving only one per square of the net. I'm hoping to get better light penetration for longer colas this time and blow the 1/2 pound I got from my first grow out of the water!

Everything is going well in the garden. I have my lights at about max height now without removing the rope hangars, which I will probably end up doing. The Skywalker and Mimosa are both a little closer to the lights than I would like. The LSD Auto is on day 80 and I'm on the hunt for amber trichomes.

Second update for today. I supercropped the four main colas on the Skywalker OG Auto (two are shown in the picture). They were getting close enough to the light to burn the leaves a little.

Today the LSD Auto got chopped and she is currently hanging to dry. She smells great and is very frosty. I got a little aggressive with the super-cropping on the Skywalker and had to tape up a branch last night. I have bumped the Wedding Cake up to full strength Masterblend.

I've been busy with a new job where my free time has been cut down considerably. It's amazing to see how much growth is happening between waterings compared to looking in the tents multiple times a day. I took some pictures while fertigating today. Also, the LSD Auto finished drying so I trimmed her today. I didn't weigh her but I used 9 jars in the process. I'll try to get some pics of her jarred up tomorrow depending on time.
