MarsHydro FC-3000 grow

Hey folks.

just starting this journal to document the usage of the @MarsHydrofactory FC-3000, 300w LED Panel.

I will be using this light from start to finish using the dimming function to dial it down for starting seeds to cranking it up and rocking it during full flower.

I will be utilising my 0.8x1.0m scrog frame, the FC3000 is capable of vegging a 4x4 and flowering a 3x3 so my scrog should be almost perfect (width of my room doesn’t allow a full 1mx1m).

I will keep this thread updated at a minimum of weekly.

I’ve only just hung the light as Im just finishing up the last of the previous SCROGS trimming.

Here’s some shots of the light and some buds from the current 400w HPS harvest that have been harvested over the last few weeks.

hey looks great! couple questions

how many plants are you planning to run under the new light?

do you harvest the top buds off your plants then let the bottom kolas develop a little more on the plant? any increase in yield there? i'm curious what your yield was/is expected and how many plants you ran under the 400w HPS?

sorry for so many questions, new grower and fascinated by it all

This was my last grow of 2 plants.
400w HPS scrog.

I don’t really weigh my harvests but I usually average around 400g from 400w HPS grows whenever I do weigh it all. Estimates between 330g-450g each harvest

Yes this scrog I harvested the top colas first as they ripened quicker than the lower growth that was shaded by the canopy.

No real increase in yield other than getting denser and more ripe.

Under the new light I may run 3 this time as I’ve learned a lot from the previous grow utilising a full room scrog for the first time.

I know I can allow more vertical growth above the screen during stretch.

I also know I can fill the screen more than I did on the previous grow as around 15% of the screen was unused and the canopy was only 8” tall.

Little update.

I’ve been busy cleaning down, and repairing sections of the room that required it.

eventually the intake ducts you see will be removed and blocked off to be able to keep temps higher during winter running the LED and will be changed to intake via the closet door itself.

I’ve routed the contactor relay through the hole in the wall that originally had my reflector cord through it.

I’ve added an IEC extender in the line to the lighting rig and routed the cable around the high level of the room.

next on the list will be mocking up the scrog to be at a lower level due to me using smaller pots this next run but with DTW irrigation system utilising some Floraflex 6” caps and hose clips to even the flow over the coco.

I’ve played around with this lighting dimmer and it’s mounting etc.

I still remain adamant that it would be much better (for me personally) if the IEC power cable was 2x longer and the DRIVER to LED BARS cable was 2-3x shorter lol.

I feel most people would mount the driver and controller on the light just as I have so maybe even have a cable that is small enough to have very little loose cable when mounted on the light and have an extension cable to increase its length for mounting elsewhere. @MarsHydrofactory

Be good to have you along as this is a learning curve for me also as I’ve never used LED and I’m hopeful that the manufacturers claims and reviews I’ve watched of the FC-3000 with PPFD and umol tests are accurately depicting a light that’s been marketed correctly for a 3x3 flowering footprint or a 4x4 veg area.

The biggest thing for me right now is get the plants to a point where I can set up the auto irrigation system again and then all my feeding will be automated and I will literally be filling the 60L tote once a week and tending to the plants/screen as I go.

My auto irrigation system comprises of the following

60L tote
Hailea HX8810 (1050LPH) for nutrient delivery
Hailea HX1500 (500LPH) for movement in the tote
19mm-13mm reducer
13mm rigid pipe delivery ring
4mm flexi pipe branches off for delivery
6” floraflex caps
Floraflex pipe clips
Shut off valve on delivery pipe
Back pressure release valve inside tote.

Here’s the link to the system I originally built.

DIY DTW auto irrigation

here’s what it was like Previously looking like as a scrog utilising 400w HPS

Little update of what’s happening.

Critical+ is still the only plant up to now.

I’ve built a ring irrigation for the single plant. I will use stakes to keep it in place in the pot with the floraflex cap sitting in the centre of the pot shown.

ive reduced pot size to around 7 litres this time for more frequent feeding once established.

This could be a single plant scrog or I could clone a couple of plants and run a few into the scrog (maybe 3 ) just not sure yet time will tell.

@MarsHydrofactory FC-3000 light is doing the job very nicely.

was getting a little stretch so I upped the %.

Have installed the new HX8810 pump for feeding the ring and added it to the back pressure and shut off system.

also installed the HX1500 as a water mover for 24H movement in the tote ( thanks @xtsho for the idea to use another pump )

Any questions just ask but this is the slow part of growing lol.

Couple more days and critical+ will be transplanted.

the @MarsHydrofactory FC3000 is on 100% and everything is great.

EC 0.6 A/B Dutch Pro Hydro/Coco Grow.

As you can see I’ve not given up hope on the G13 Blueberry Headband lol.

I’m contemplating trying some dry salts, there are a few sellers on eBay with ready mixed bags of salts.

I know I know I can create my own blend blah blah lol. I know all that shitbongsmilie

This seems easiest to dip my toe in.

As I said though it’s only a contemplation right now lol.

How you getting on heat wise from hps to led ?
Temperature wise I’m running the room at 27C.

I have it on a temp sensor fan controller. It’s right by the temp gauge on the back wall.

the actual controller is the blue SMS plugged in on the table.

I’ll know more when the weather cools down outside.

If it gets too cool I will switch the intakes from external to internal.

during winter and the controller I could keep the room with HPS between 20C and 24C utilising the green tubular heater.

Only time will tell now lol.

normally at this point I would be utilising my 200W CFL maybe the 400W MH.
