Let's talk coffee.

French press is my preferred way.

I wore out a couple of presses that had plastic parts. My Frieling has been making strong black coffee for going on 20 years.

Also, dark roasted beans taste burnt to me. I prefer medium roast and the fresher the better. Store whole beans in a jar in the freezer. Grind just before using.
Not to mention the fact that they sell really nice stovetop espresso makers in Amsterdam. And when you ship them back home, it might be possible to replace the gasket with one made out of hash.

I have a lot of nice espresso pots in many sizes.

Sorry, I jumped the gun on this. Your french press looks like a nice moka pot. It's the only device I use. Works anywhere, a stove a campfire or a rest area thanks to my primus stove. They are the only thing I use now.

Now they want us to wear two or three masks . I can barely breathe through one mask .
I would rather use a scuba tank than wear two or three masks .
These talking heads are not scientists . They sound more like think tank people that are using political techniques .
If I had the money , why not I buy a space astronaut suit to keep all of my skin covered .

It is almost like they are paniking because the virus is multiplying like crazy and the mutations have already spread around Europe and America and Asia and Africa .

Perhaps they know something they are very worried about that could lead to a complete breakdown of society like Mad Max and Thunderdome .

Some people prefer espresso and I occasionally make it. Not my go-to or even preferred but with coffee, everybody has a different opinion. Each to their own. Life is too short for bad coffee and everybody decides for themselves what best is.

I have a brother in law who prefers Maxwells House and drip filter.

Mmmmmm so tasty with taters. Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew :eyesmoke:
They are not big enough to bother with. We had bunnies when we were kids, even then we had to cook up a couple for the meal. Mind you, on a sandwich for lunch. Na, too cute to do it. I feed them so they do not eat my bushes. I open up my kitchen window and call out to them. At times the female (It is the third year for her, she lives under my deck) would be waiting for me to throw out a slice of bread for her. The male has been around since the summer. He is still a little skittish if I am around. Pretty sure we will have little bunnies in the spring.

Its only espresso in that the coffee is extracted under pressure. Its really just strong coffee. About 2-3 times as strong as your brother in laws, not too much stronger than a french press.

One of the best things I like about it is that it is done on demand. My tiny three cup makes about 8 ounces, It takes about four minutes to brew, I run a six cup for my to-go coffee.

That set up right there, with a good grind and roast makes a satisfying brew. I'd be glad to have that with my eggs and toast in the morning.

I have an N95 mask but it has an exhaust valve so it's not really appropriate for covid prevention
it will prevent you from getting it. And that exhaust valve lets out about the same amount of breath that escapes around the nose and sides of the "surgical" masks so honestly i believe they are still far more effective than a surgical mask.

Yeah, the grind is important. I use a monstrous vintage Pavoni conical burr grinder. It was made for a coffee shop. Weighs about 20 pounds, holds about a kilo in the hopper. So big that I keep it in the basement. Total overkill. I got a small one, but it just isn't as good so I tossed it.
