Ok this is my first post in the RIU community but I've been coming to you guys for years for all my plant needs. I'd have to say that, you guys along with the books by the Rev, "Truly Living Organics," and "Teeming with Microbes," have converted me from a synthetic nute head to strictly solid amendment organics with teas. Iv never looked back ha. Some background Iv been 'caregiving' for around 8 yrs now and I've gotten to the point where the next logical step is breeding. I'm in Mi and am aiming primarily for medical strains that deal with anxiety/backpain/migraines and in a separate run I plan to run some proven cancer fighting strains and make them available to my network of patients and caregivers.
Oh and the main reason I got into growing was due to my father getting stage 4 cancer in a lymph node when i was young and seeing him go through chemo and radiation, which was tough as a kid (He's a survivor though! Thank God).
Currently I have roughly a 20x30 room that i flwr in and the same for veg. I do have a 10x10 and a 4x2 tent. Recently, I started 5 landrace Afghan Kush that iv had for a few yrs now and out of the 5 one is male (he's in the 4x2 tent). He literally showed his sex two days ago and now I want to make sure that its worth following through.
My original plan was to stabilize the afghan kush male with a female over a few cycles. Aiming for high resin and low flwr time, yield isn't that important at this point. I understand that this is only the tip of the iceberg and I have yrs of work to get where Im aiming but any input or tips are very much appreciated.
Basically I guess I am wondering if Afghan Kush landrace is a good strain to start with since it was kinda just by luck i had them, or if i should scrap the whole idea and take different approach? And no, I havent thought much about what strain I could cross the AK with once its ready.
Also, what are some of the CURRENT strains/seed banks to get some quality genetics to breed out of? Maybe a few examples of how you got started and what you learned?
