Michigan Medical Marijuana Act & Rules

I haven't heard anything about this. Are they planning on telling patients and caregivers?
NO, Not till they have changed the law.. It's PLANNED this way by the Republican reps who are heading this change! If you don't know - it's far easier for them to change what they want and make it easy to tax and screw ANYONE who needs/wants MM......

Folks like you and 99.9% are not called to, or open to testify in the hearings (I was called by several congress persons "at home" to find out what I thought about the rule idea's. I've spoken to many of them before)....
Certain Rep. leaders have the hearings closed (and Snyder has a "monitor" plugged into the panel too as reported BY NORMAL) - so only the opinions of those called to testify are heard. So far only the anti's have been called to weight in - A Sgt (female) from the State Police drug task force and the Head of the State Police and 1 Police Cpt and a cpl of Sheriff's. All of whom are anti ANY growing as we are "dumping" our overages on "the street".

LMFAO - I have testified in the past on how any transference from "legal grower" to the street is because they have closed most of all the disp. If we had a closely regulated Dispen. system the rule of overage's being sold outside the system would slow to a stop..

They "claim" worry about quality and keep bringing up independent testing and this is hampering everything. They want to go this fucked up route and basically not open many more disp.. The fucked up State cops are making abso - fucking - lutely STUPID claims about every angle of home and caregiver growing it's ponderous!

This is an outrage! YOU MUST CALL YOUR REP AND TELL THEM WHAT YOU THINK!

No card holder/Caregiver growing will handicap MANY REAL patients in the medical program. Not to mention the pricing will rise if it all goes this way, along with problems for patients needing to travel to actually GET their meds...

These are all tied to HB4209 - HB4827

NORMAL as of Oct 2 supported the bills UNTIL the bills got rewritten to the 500 - 1000 - 1500 lic amendments.....
NORMAL now opposes these bills - The state Congress does not give 2 hoots about what NORMAL thinks...They are far more inclined to listen to their constituents !!!

CALL - WRITE and Email TODAY!

Here's all of them with phone and email

http://www.house.mi.gov/mhrpublic/frmRepList.aspx

http://www.senate.michigan.gov/senatorinfo.html

I suggest you all get started.....they passed the bill.
We still have time for them to amend it to allow caregivers and maybe include patient grow rights.
There was a strong push by the Detroit group who plan on controlling all forms of growing/distribution by their large amounts of cash they have on hand to control the now pending legal grow ops...
By the way, it's 10K to even apply for an A level lic. for 500 plant grow ops!

It's a sad day for Michigan MM patients.
The patient costs to cover all the costs involved in them actually getting their meds could reach 1K a year, if projected #'s of patients stop re-upping their cards.

This has turned into a money grabbing contest for the rich investors.....all the while you and I will soon be criminals again....They plan on increasing fines and time served for growing convictions due to Police complaining about increased costs to actually go out and bust us....

NONE of this is what the first passing of MM laws intended! We have been blind sided by closed meetings and misinformation from the top down....

I may just leave the state.

One of the so-called guys on "our" side sold out and crossed the lines to support these bills.
Tim Beck - This peckerwood worked with MICH. NORMAL, CPU, MCC and DPA....
It seems he is now blind to what he has actually done. Every time it was the turn for "our" side to testify. They shut down the testimony to go to possible road vote bills - Now how do you think they plan on paying for those new road bills that do NOT cover what they say they do?

MILegalize needs help now to close the legalize initiative in our favor, not big money's !!!
DONATE to help and attend fundraisers!
We NEED to beat the Michigan Cannabis Coalition (MCC) run on the alternate legalization front....THESE guys are the big money monopoly that wants to corner the market with the now to possible big money monopoly money funding their drive.....DO NOT SIGN THEIR PETITION! They have a super pact funding set up that's hurting all of us!
MIL has to disclose where our funds come from....They do NOT! WHY?

As caregivers and patients, we need to stand and fight for whats right,,,,,Legalizing MI needs to happen - By MIL standards or we will all loose!

i'm sorry, you testified that caregivers were selling weed on the street?

why would you say something that stupid? in public? to the legislature?

you wonder where the police came up with the idea? you testified to it yourself!

are you helping?

Can I ask a question about the overal marijuana legalization movement in Michigan? I know this is a medical forum but as I was reading these posts, a question occurred to me.

So quick question to anyone in the know, just got my very first possesion and paraphernalia ticket this weekend. Will this exclude me from being a caregiver? Pretty sure I can still be a patient since neither of those is felonies but not sure how much stricter they are on caregivers compared to patients. Because if this means I can't register as a caregiver for myself the whole idea of moving to mi is shot... thanks in advance for any responses by anyone knowledgeable to this.

from the mmma law:
(h) "Primary caregiver" or "caregiver" means a person who is at least 21 years old and who has agreed to assist with a patient's medical use of marihuana and who has not been convicted of any felony within the past 10 years and has never been convicted of a felony involving illegal drugs or a felony that is an assaultive crime as defined in section 9a of chapter X of the code of criminal procedure, 1927 PA 175, MCL 770.9a.
so you should check out the michigan law on drug felonies and make sure whatever you got charged with is not a felony in your own state or in michigan.

seems like you'd be ok. but i wouldnt move to michigan to try to be a caregiver for profit. caregiving is limited to 5 connected registry patients by the mmma law. unless you think selling a few grams to 5 people will fill your pockets with gold...

theres 34,269 caregivers to compete with in the state currently.

So i live with two other people who have patients cards. They are 19 and 20 yrsold. I dont think i can get a cg card because i have afelony warrant in another state and a felony conviction that was reduced to a misdemeanor in 2010. How many plants can we have in the house?. Can we each grow our own 12 seperately?

each set of 12 plants should be in seperate secured, locked cages or rooms. you cannot grow with a friend or grow together in the same room. unless there is a cage or other barrier to keep other people out. dont let anyone in your room and keep it locked at all times.

there is no limit to how many people grow seperately in one building, although i wouldnt go over 99 plants as federal penalties ramp up.

thinking of moving back to mi. do not want to move back unless I can get patient privileges. what constitutes residency?

couple dudes told me po box is fine... i would set up po box first, and then get patient card then make the move.

can one person be a caregiver and the other just a patient if they have a drug felony? same house husband and wife...??

Hey all

Moving to MI soon. Wondering if anyone knows what establishes "residency" to become a patient. I'm hoping I can just get a few peices of mail, get an ID and be done with it. Something tells me it won't be that easy..

If you're moving to MI just do the normal thing you always do when you move and change your address then go find a pot doctor to sign the card application and in a few weeks you will have your card. It's pretty straight forward.
