I debated going with the cable. I didn't have any and didn't want to visit Home Depot yet. Just using wood.

I clamped the frame in place and then marked the braces, cut them, and screwed them in. It is rock solid now that the screen is on. The bottom corner is warped out about an inch. Right now I am using a cinder block to hold it in place until I get the hardware figured out.

Any suggestions?

Gonna sound weird. Why not buy some neodymiums and glue them into the wood at bottom, middle, and top? Stick a handle on there and thats a sexy door!

Just an idea I've been wanting to try myself. Finally found a guinea pig ;)

I was thinking about the magnetic tape and metal. Wasn't sure about the rusting situation. I also am not sure how to adjust the tension. It would be awesome if I could use an electromagnet!

I need some thing simple, yet raccoon-proof (complex), and strong.

One of these maybe:

Not sure magnets would be raccoon proof. Hell, is anything raccoon proof? I can dig the locker idea, only one handle?

I was originally thinking about doing a rolling garage door set up. As the project dragged on I ended up going with something simple. For big items I can remove the panels.

I'm personally a door guy. I would hate the garage door unless it was automatic. Why not build a locking system with a key? Dual protection for your space.

You could install the magnets to help keep the door flush then a single lock in the middle to keep it safe.

Man, every time I browse through your threads I feel motivated to go work in the yard and I don't even have a yard of my own to work in... It's really cool seeing everything you have going on, so thank you for that. I wish you all the best sir and stay well.

One question while I'm at it and sorry if you addressed it somewhere else, but are you producing your own compost or do you source it locally?

I sourced this batch locally. Most nursery and landscaping companies have a good organic compost for $50/yd.

Along my back wall is my current compost pile. I also have a worm compost container.

Your plants have very figurative human and animal structure to them . Very interesting. That screen room you made is insane. It’s going to become a jungle in there . I can’t wait to see it unfold.

AO1 and AO3 are both sticky and have an orange/acetone stem rub. AO4 has the thickest stem I have ever seen on a two foot plant. However, he is not sticky and has now distinct smell.

Picked up 3 blueberry bushes and I transplanted one yesterday. Put it in a half oak barrel full of composted leaves, twigs and juniper needles.
