My back regrets this small pot choice!

My ladies are in 1 gallon pots and this late into flower they would totally dry out without being watered every 30ish hours. I am pretty lazy so I usually just let them get pretty droopy so that I don't have to guess pot weights or worry about over watering. They don't seem to mind the droopy spells, but damn I feel like if I go 2 full days they'd turn into cactus... I want them to finish mostly so I have weed to smoke to make my back feel better from bending over to water them!

How often do you folks tend to water a plant in a 3 gallon pot with normal soil and perlite? The plants themselves would be larger in a larger pot, so do all plants late into flower end up being watered near daily?

Mumble mumble complain....

I have 3 litre pots with coco and wormcastings. 3 weeks into flower and I water once a day but these are clones 1-2.5ft high, plants do not droop but they would if I left it another day I feel. I think many plants in any scenario would need at least once a day once well into the flowering cycle especially in the smaller pots as I dont think they retain moisture as well as larger pots, but all depends on medium, variety and growing conditions.

I grow in 3 gal pots using Sunshine Mix #4 with Perlite. Eight week veg, 10 week flower. I water the flowering plants at lights on every two or three days.

It's one of the reasons that I modified my perpetual for fewer, but larger plants.

try capping the soil with something non-airy to help keep the moisture from escaping. I use the floraflex caps as well to make watering easier. Look into auto watering next round , I love my watering system!

I just learned about those Floraflex caps last week here in this site. They do look like they'd help in this situation for sure. Just note that if the pots are covered, they still do need to exchange air, so make sure the lids/caps don't completely seal things off or rot might occur.

I run 3 gallon from before flip to end of flower and my watering schedule is usually every 3 days. Maybe 4 And always have 20% run off. That’s plastic not fabric

That's an interesting idea. I might give it a go

get the caps or some coco for the top of the soil itll help retain moisture, as well as looking into mixing aloe in ur water as a wetting agent. one love.

I couldn't imagine growing out of anything smaller than 5 gallon pots. I'm doing my next grow in 10 gallon pots so that should be an interesting change. I'll probably only have to water them every 1 - 1.5 weeks

They are just starting week 2 of veg, are currently in 1.5 gal pots, and they still aren't ready to be watered since I gave them each 1L 6 days ago.
