My girls!

Hi all.
First post and probably not my last. :-)
My first venture into trying to breed. I planted 13 beans, 5 of which were male. Pulled most of them and just kept the healthiest looking one.
Three weeks ago today I put him with two girls and hopefully he has done is his thing. Faraway from the other girls for safety reasons. ;-)

My questions:
1. Would they be pollinated by now, is there a receptive and non receptive stage?
2. If pollinated when and how would be a safe time to them back in the tent with the other girls? (who were flipped almost 6 weeks ago).
3. How long will it take for me to see the results? ie: seed production?

Appreciate any help that can be offered.

Welcome to RIU.
If the pollen sacs were opening on the male and you put it with females that were already flowering, then the females certainly got some pollen. Each white hair (pistil) on the female flower emerges from one site where a seed can form. If you had air circulating in the breeding area and/or if you shook the male over the female plants, then even more pollination happened.

If you want to put the pollinated females back with the others, you can mist them with water all over on every surface including the pots and soil. Water neutralizes the pollen. If you want to minimize pollen coming from the male so you can dispose of him, hose him down too.

The seeds will form in the ovules over the course of a few weeks. When comparing the unseeded females to the seeded females, you should see a difference with swollen ovules on the seeded plants. Just let the buds go. They will continue to grow and make flower material that is just a potent and consumable as the unseeded buds. By the time the buds ripen, you should see seeds almost falling out of the buds, and more will be buried in the buds.

Nah, not already flowering. I flipped the males and the females at the same time so both are going into their fourth week.

They have been chucking pollen all the time they were in the tent, you can see it all over the leaves. I have collected some for later ;-)

I have given them a good spray, have a mister on my water sprayer so Used that and did almost everything so what ever pollen is around has hopefully been neutralised.
