Hi, Names Tone. New to the forum so I thought id share a little of what i been building for starters. Let me know what cha guys think so far. Rooms not complete yet but will be soon. cant wait to see it in action. Lighting is 2 x Raptor 8" Hoods with 1000w S.G. Ballasts. Tents sealed with Co2 via 50Lbs tank. 2 vats inside for flower and 1 vat outside the tent for veg lit by a 400w Mh. Still have to lace up some screens, finish some duct work and what not but its a work in progress. thanks for lookin.

I bent my own cool coils for far less hahaha

whats up doc, nice build but damn you for putting ideas in my head! almost tried the same set up but bitched out at the last minute and went single bucket rdwc instead. cant wait to see live animals in there! subbed

Thanks. Thought long and hard about it hah. Can I get a mod to move this thread to grow room design? Sorry just relized I posted it in the wrong category. Thx

Nice setup but those small coils will make the cooling system works its ass off. I use 50' coils in 50gal res and it still takes a bit of work.

I was thinking that too. But the tech from hydro innovations assured me they would be fine. There exact replicas of the coil coils they sell. yes a wort chiller would be optimal but since mine are so small ill be running a pretty hefty flow threw them 5 GPM should be fast enough to gather all the retained heat from the coil and transport it back to the chiller.

Plus i don't think my tubs will get too hot/ there heatsinked to the basement floor and their outstanding surface area should help too.

I found that smaller coils worked the system too hard and the added pump heat from the long run times completely robbed the cooling capacity

Where do you want this moved to? Hydroponics main?

PM please if and where you want this moved, thanks

I'll keep that in mind. I do have 3 more cool coils. I could just daisy chain 2 together in each tub if 1 isn't enough.

It doesn't matter because its a completely different system. Just relaying experience, more surface area of coils will result in faster cooling capabilities and less run time. My system is on the same timer as my aero pumps and only runs for 80secs and then off for 8mins.letting that fresh cold water sit in the big coil while system is off let's it transfer tons of energy.

I understand what your saying. I was just wondering what brand and how big your chiller was. If mine doesn't work out I might buy a chill king 1hp. If ya don't wanna tell me that's cool too. My water volume is also 50g so I was wondering what chiller you used with your 50ft wort chiller to accomplish the task.

Just want to say love the setup. Looks nice and looks like you put some work into it.

Never made or used chillers so I cant really comment on them. But good work so far man. would love to see some pics of a grow when you get started.

Thanks man. I can't wait either haha. I'm still waiting for my ductwork and flange kits to come in. After that I'll leak test the vats and fill them with 80 degree water to test the chiller btu output. Hopefully my coils work. If not I'll upsize them. I have a 75" roll of stainless tubing. I can cut that into 3 so about 25ft per vat that should do the trick I hope.

Got a few things done tonight.installed the 50g auto top off Res/nute mixing res. Ran all the waterlines from the main connected to the float valve so i don't flood the place. Finished mt scrog screens too. Got my mother plant room going too.

looks damn good so far, any concerns about clear tubing causing algae? are the net pots supported by anything other than that foam board...?

Not to worried about algae growth but just in case when I insulate my chiller lines I'll use some on the auto fill lines too. Yup just foam board 1 an 1/4 thick. Don't worry its actually really strong. I've set a raptor 8 on top and it didn't budge and those things are real heavy.

Didn't get the duct work done but built a aero cloner for cheap. These totes from lowes are awesome. Not one leak. Pumps a mag 5 with 2 misters I got for free
