(N)- More is Not Always Better!

This is a study that deals with "fertigation" - fertilizing with water-soluble synthetic fertilizers and it goes heavily into statistics which makes reading it in spots a real drag. But it has a great set of photos that sum up the effects of over-fertilizing your cannabis with nitrogen, which can be almost as bad as growing with deficiencies.

These are all high CBD hemp strains, but it should hold true for our Cannabis
depending on the variety, the "nitrogen sweet spot" is somewhere around 50 ppm to 150 ppm of nitrogen. This study also shows that cannabis is not a "one size fits all" plant. The strains nutritional needs (and limits) can vary quite a bit

very good one.
only thing i would like to have explained better in the study is the influence of the soil (incl. mykos. theyre using Promix) as this is obviously a source of N too.

"Peters Professional 20-20-20 (N-P-K) (ICL Specialty Fertilizers, Dorchester County, SC, U.S.) general purpose fertilizer with micronutrients (0.050% Mg, 0.0125% B, 0.0125% Cu, 0.050% Fe, 0.025% Mn, 0.005% Mo, and 0.025% Zn) was prepared at variable fertilizer treatment rates (0, 50, 150, 300, 450, and 600 ppm nitrogen) following their respective EC (0.33, 0.54, 0.96, 1.59, 2.22, and 2.85 dS m−1). Electrical conductivity of irrigation supply water was constant at 0.33 dS m−1 and thus explains the 0.33 dS m−1 EC of the control treatment (0 ppm N). Daily fertigation"

EC of below 1 seems to be golden.

Most problems arise from the overfeeding of nutrients which can cause nutrient antagonism.

I think one of the more prevalent overuses is with calcium now that all new growers seem to think they need to feed calmag with each watering. And some brands that use calcium nitrate as an ingredient are going to contain nitrogen as well.

Too much of anything is bad.

The majority of issues people have is from overfeeding something.
Or not getting a good runoff when they feed too much, feed just the right amount and you only need runoff every few weeks or so.overfeed and you gotta flush the old out so you can overfeed again.... if that makes sense,,,
